I exercise on down days without any problems. I think the best thing is to just try it and see how it goes. I mostly walk, do yoga or dance...not talking about anything really strenuous.

That makes sense. Thanks! Good advice - try it and see how it goes. :)

BeachBreeze2010 So, doing some math - if I'm supposed to consume 1200 calories per day times 7 days, that's 8400 calories per week. If two of those days were 0 calories, then that means I can divide the 8400 by 5 - so 1680 per day. Theoretically that should give me the same weight loss.

I asked my nutritionist about this diet, and she pointed out the same thing... If you eat less on 2 days, you will still likely come up with the same amount of calories over a week -- if you're sticking to low calorie currently.

I just watched the documentary, and it seems smart to me. Keep in mind that my nutritionist is also the person who told me that 100 calories of chocolate candy kisses is equal to 100 calories of broccoli -- a calorie is a calorie. I don't by that. So, I guess you could say I don't trust her knowledge.

She also said that "carb cycling" (something I read in a book by Chris Powell of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition) would just result in fluctuations of water weight. Hmmm... seems to work for those folks on TV.

I think I'll try the Fast diet. I have a tendency to eat too little when I'm "stuck" and not losing. I think it causes my body to conserve. Maybe cycling the up and down days would keep the scale moving in the down direction.
