Hi all! Jessica, your cousins sound like my kids. Little trouble makers.

Everything is going ok here. I too, wish it were spring, but we are already above 100. YUCK. Now it is time for the way too expensive electric bills. I hate having to air condition!
I have brought myself back to the scale after a couple of months off, mostly because I knew I was gaining weight. I am now about 8 pounds more than my last weight. So, I am once again weighing in at 216. Yuck. I need to get my self control back. I know that I will again, but I was having too much fun eating everything and anything. I'm still not too worried. I know that 8 pounds can be lost again, as long as I don't keep gaining. I need to learn how to maintain my weight.

Jen, I hope that everything is going better for you. Did you make it to a doc?

I hope that everyone is doing well.

Denise - I'm proud of you for stepping back on the scale. I have a habit of skipping weigh-in when I don't think I'm doing well which only perpetuates the problem for me. I did just that the last couple of weeks and am going to face the music tomorrow and weigh in no matter what.

I had to share a little victory. I picked up some great jeans (the drawstring/ roomy kind) over the weekend in a store. I was carrying them around while my husband was shopping in his side of the store. I went over to see what he was doing and he asked me if I'd tried them on. I hate to try stuff on but he talked me into it. Well, guess what? The 2X was too big! I had to go back and get the 1X which fits perfectly.

I love it when that happens!

gonzostar 05-21-2003 07:24 PM

that IS an accomplishment, angi!

i never buy anything (except maybe t-shirts) without trying them on. things never fit me right. someday i'd love to be an actual size!

as for the sun/heat -- i'm not much of a hot weather person. it's already too hot here for my liking, it's in the 90's. at swim practice i got sunburned shoulder, ouch! i prefer fall weather. cool & crisp is my favorite.

Goddess Jessica 05-21-2003 08:21 PM

Yeah, I'm like you Angie, I hate to try things on. I end up buying so much crap that doesn't fit or doesn't look right.

This past weekend I bought a cute pair of DNKY light brown jeans without trying them on because they were on clearence for $8. Well, I wasted $8 because they are obviously petite but not marked as such and on my 5'9" frame, they are terrible!! I'm trying to get into the habit of not buying it unless I try it on... period.

Jennelle 05-21-2003 08:32 PM

I abhor trying clothes on in the store! The lighting always makes me look like a terminal liver patient, and I SWEAR they use funhouse mirrors designed to make you look about 100 lbs. more than you really are! I don't go into dressing rooms, even when I'm thin. I buy the stuff and try it on at home. If it doesn't fit right, I take it back. Of course, this means I occassionally run into the problem of buying something on clearance that turns out to be gross...

Hi guys! I'm still alive -- just haven't had much internet access. I did stay at the motel for 1 week. I found an apartment!!! I just can't move in till June 1st. Till then I'll be staying with friends. It's just not a good idea for me to go home. I'm not sure how I'm doing with weight, but the "PANTS-O-METER" says I'm OK. I'm trying to stay with normal food, but I admit I've been eating more sweets, and since I'm not at home, it's hard to eat all the same stuff. Oh, it will be so good to be settled in my own little apartment. I'll still be in NH. I got a little 1 bedroom apartment overlooking a river. It's on a busy road, so there's traffic noise, but otherwise it's very peaceful and quiet and serene. Yes, it's expensive, but it's WORTH it. I need the peace and the space.

Here is a picture from the wedding over the weekend!

AngiKL 05-21-2003 11:33 PM

Great dress, Sandi! And you look beautiful in it. No wonder you felt sexy!

Jennelle 05-21-2003 11:43 PM

Sandi, I LOVE your dress! It's so glamorous!

Jennelle 05-21-2003 11:50 PM

Jeanne - I'm so glad you found an apartment! I know you are so excited to be on your own!

gonzostar 05-22-2003 12:17 AM

jeanne --- SO SO SO SO happy for you! that sounds wonderful and it will be so good for you and your health!

sandi -- oooh, sparkly! very pretty!

Jen 05-22-2003 10:25 AM

Sandi - you look fabulous!!! I agree that regular exercise would probably be good for me, problem is that I'm having trouble getting my butt out of the house. I just end up thinking something like, is it really worth all the trouble? I know that it is but I just have no motivation at all.

Denise - I've got a dr's appt next week and I'm hoping she'll be able to help me out with this issue.

Thanks everyone for their support. :)

JML 05-23-2003 10:49 PM

You look beautiful Sandy!!! I love the gold! Why not sparkle?

Yes, Jennelle and Holly, it won't be long. It will be so good to put away my suitcase and be at home in my own little apartment. I am longing to be settled. I feel like I'm constantly moving. I moved from the motel to a friend's house on Monday, and I am staying at another friend's house this weekend, and will go back to my other friend's house after this weekend, and then I will move to the apartment next weekend.

I'm not sure if it's affecting my weight. It's hard to say. I'm going to have to buy my own scale now for my new place. I haven't been as good with eating this past week and with my schedule, I've been skipping out on some of my exercises -- but I'm trying to be as regular as possible both with eating and exercising. Things are just going to be a little crazy till I'm settled.

bella23 05-24-2003 03:41 PM

Well tomorrow is my 7 year aniversary and I have nothing to do but clean my house. O'well, same as last year.

I haven't been doing all that well latley. I have gained weight and that isn't good. So I'm going to do my best to get it back off. It's been hard with my money issue to stay OP. But I'm trying to keep up with my water and workout and eat reasonably.

Hopefully that will work.

*hugs* Good Luck, Bella. Money is tight here this week, too.

Jeanne, congrats on finally doing it!!! Sooo proud of you!

Sandi, you look great!!

Angi, congrats on the pants! I HATE trying clothes on, but am inspired by your lil story. :)
