I think losing weight and quitting smoking are the 2 big things very few people can do perfectly the first time. If we could, we would have lost those first extra 20 pounds that put us into the overweight category and we'd never have seen the obese category. Don't aim for perfection...it's progress that helps us, that keeps us reaching for the next goal. We've all been there and now we're here, trying to keep forward progress going. We're all here to support you!

Hi Rodeo! I'm a prodigal daughter too.

I've made a couple more positive steps. One is that I told a friend at work and the other is that I've started tracking calories again. I have a daily calorie goal but I'm not trying for it quite yet. I'm just easing in by tracking. However, just tracking has already helped me eat better and fewer calories.

One thing I've learned is that I tend to want to go gung-ho and change everything at once at that never works. I know if I keep weighing and tracking calories that the motivation to hit my calorie goals will come. I did eat 400 fewer calories yesterday than on Monday and am on track for today so far.

I'm so glad I'm back here with new and old friends. :)
