+ I have hot water since yesterday afternoon and it was just a new pump, not a well excavation

+ was able to take old blankets and towels to the vet for the rescued dogs

+ nice chat with Donna who is pleased at losing 42 pounds since I persuaded her to join the gym

+ the Mill Board finally faced financial reality yesterday - I am cashing some investments

+ a lovely long soak in the tub this morning with The New Yorker

+ got an appointment for snow tire installation a week from today - I've left it late

+ Christmas shopping list is slowly coming together

+ found 24 brand new long-stemmed champagne glasses I'd forgotten I had - great for The Eve

- a mostly better food day yesterday - grateful

- took Mom on lots of errands yesterday. She is feeling better from her fall and her touch of flu and her reaction to antibiotics. Poor lady. She still tries to not complain - bless her heart.

- going to see Ruth today

- my neighbor, John, got the trash out for me last night

- saw Mimi.. she's feeling better from her flu

- my friends, my family, YOU ALL, fb, internet, cellphone, music

- having people who care about me

- yesterday was a solid healthy day - am grateful

- productive time with Ruth yesterday

- got healthy groceries

- boiling water on the stove is helping with my runny nose

- Alex got his first kindergarden report card yesterday. It said that when it comes to recognizing and producing rhyming words, he is "exceeding expectations". My dad would be SO PROUD as well as we all are. This is four generations of rhymers!!

Today I am grateful for

+ Clare who wrote me a lovely note about how much she appreciates my help with the Food Bank

+ Donna who always makes me laugh when Doreen's crabbiness gets me down

+ nice long chat with my daughter mid-afternoon yesterday

+ dogs were delightful at Pet Therapy again

+ finally got that bean salad made - handy for over the very busy weekend

+ a wonderful relaxing pedicure scheduled for this morning at ten

* that its not snowing... Yet
* read a wonderful book " Body Clutter"
* meeting encouraging new people
* the courage to change my life for the better

- yesterday was healthy... so very grateful for that

- Shirley will have her surgery and start to feel better

- ice and heat - my body's good helper/healer

- getting a lot of Christmas shopping done online. Am able to find some of the gifts I want made in the made in USA....which was one of my goals.

- brought up from the rec. room the Delft lamp Murray got me years ago. It looks so pretty on the little table.

- got out my Grandma's china tea pot for tea today. I haven't used it 25 years. Grateful to have such a pretty thing for which to remember her.

* brite sunshine on an icy morning
* girl time w a neighbor this morning- it was so nice n eye opening for me in many ways
* at 45 yrs old i seem to be "growing up" in my thinking anyway.
* 3FC, YMCA, my diary and journal.
* my kids the 2 and 4 legged ones.

+ did some Christmas shopping - all local this year

+ Liz picked up the books for this month - Little Bee by Chris Cleave

+ the coldest night yet but house was nice and warm at 6 a.m.

+ milder temps on Sunday - I may get the outside lights up!

+ Doreen has not been going to the gym - I am grateful because her constant moaning and griping gets me down

+ sunshine and sparkling snow
