Old Shirt vs. New!
I was digging through my closet today to see if I had anything packed away that might currently fit me. I got rid of nearly all my old clothes that were too big when we moved a few months ago, but hung onto a handful of things for sentimental reasons. I also had quite a few things that were too small that my aunt gave me this summer but hoped to eventually fit into. So I went through all the too-small tops and they pretty much all fit. The same goes for a dress that looked ridiculous on me before but looks good now. I still need to go through all the jeans and capris but I probably still have a little way to go yet. But no big deal, it will just be more stuff to look forward to. :)
Oh, and while I was at it I also dug out an old shirt I wore a lot at my highest weight. For the heck of it I took a photo of the old lavender shirt (a 26/28) with one of the new ones on top (a 1X) to compare:

It's sort of surreal that the lavender shirt used to be my favorite to wear, and that it was one of the few tops that fit me well enough to keep me from feeling too self-conscious. I'll never actually wear it again (the image on it is faded and cracked regardless of the size) but I think it's something I'll always hang on to. :) |
