Haven't posted in awhile, but I am back

  • I've been reading a lot on the site, but rarely posting the last few months. I got the kick in the pants I needed. I called my obgyn and got an appointment to discuss fertility. I had an ovarian cyst when I was 20 (I'm 35 now) and was told it will likely make conceiving more difficult.
My appointment isn't til the end of January, so I want to get back on track as far as weight loss, as I know the doctor will encourage it.
I'm very excited about it, and I will be posting more.
  • Welcome back!
  • Welcome back!!

Getting back on plan is always a great thing.. and I have heard many stories of mamas trying and trying, they lose some weight and boom surprise (happy one of course ) baby on the way.
  • Welcome back!

If it makes you feel better, I had cysts and ran the gamut of tests when I was younger, have PCOS, rarely had periods (every 18-24 months tops) without birth control pills. I was told the same thing, that getting pregnant would likely be very difficult but I ended up getting pregnant fairly easy. My first I wasn't trying but my second was planned. I had my IUD removed November and I was pregnant by the end of December! Total shock as we were ready for a lot of trying.

This may not be the case for you but don't get discouraged until you find you really are having difficulty. My Ob said he didn't really look at fertility issues until someone had been trying unsuccessfully for at least a year.

    Good luck to you!
