Ruth... it's to have a kitty friend, for sure.

- Ben came over to weed yesterday.. very grateful

- helpful neighbors

- DH will have lunch with Rachel today.

- Took Mom to Walmart to get her new glasses. It's the first time in a very long time she's been in a store. She did some shopping for different things. She was as happy as if you'd given her a special gift. So grateful.

- friends, family, YOU ALL, fb, internet, cell phone, music

- pretty pictures of a heron that my fb friend took and posted. My favorite bird.

I was at the pool today swimming laps. Two weeks ago, I could barely swim 6 laps without being exhausted. Today, I increased my laps from 35 to 40, and as I finished, I wondered if I had done myself an injustice by not going to 45. (That's another story. Always trying to fight the perfectionism to avoid giving up again.) And I decided I needed to post in this thread.

I am amazingly grateful for a body that is strong enough and resilient enough to allow me to abuse it for months, and just snap back again when I give it even minimal attention by eating well and exercising (even when I don't do them perfectly). While some people (10 years younger than me) needed caffeine and energy drinks to help them survive law school, my body did frequent all-nighters without these aids. I often feel bad that I can't eat as much as my "skinny friends" without repurcussion, but how does that help me? So grateful for the amazing things my body does for me, despite my tendency to take it for granted and abuse it.
