Constipated :/

  • So I have been at this for over 2 weeks. And I have been constipated for 3 days any suggestions on what foods I should eat that might help
  • my poo schedule went back to normal after i made sure to include healthy fats in my diet. its a common problem when people change their diet. healthy fats are good! olives and olive oil, nuts and nut butters, salmon, avocado. add a little of that back in and it should help.
  • ^^ All of that, and also make sure you're getting at least 20 grams of fiber and drinking LOTS of water.

If all that fails, I'd try milk of magnesia. Take a swig before bed, and in the morning ... well, it's like magic.
  • I take a daily dose of flax seed oil, drink enough water. It works without being uh, unpredictable. Hope this helps.
  • Coffee .
  • Coffee and fat are both excellent suggestions.
  • I started taking psyllium seed husk capsules and they keep me pretty regular.
  • I have tried most laxatives out there. The one that is the gentlest and most effective is raw pumpkin seeds.

I buy them at a health food store. They have no shells.
I just eat 3 tablespoons 2 days in a row.

They also got rid of my hemorrhoids the very first time I tried them.
They have a LOT of other health benefits also.
Search for 'pumpkin seeds remedy' in the internet and you will be very surprised how good they are for you.

They curb my appetite also, which really helps with my weight loss.
But be sure and buy just the RAW ones without the shells. The salted ones and the flavored ones are roasted and don't work at all.
  • Good fats, leafy greens and I take benefiber daily you just mix the tasteless powder in whatever you are drinking.
  • Four prunes with breakfast or as a snack every morning along with fiber One cereal. Remember, too, that changes might take a little while to work. I was pretty sluggish at the start and it took a couple weeks of high fiber to get things moving nicely.

  • I agree with coffee and good fats. They work very well for me.
  • Make sure you drink a lot of water; a couple of glasses of warm water (or a cup of coffee) first thing in the morning before breakfast should work as well.
Bran is good; I got addicted to oat bran, trying not to go over the limit (3 tablespoons a day), and have found it does help. Psyllium husk is very good too; I got mine on ebay, and actually cook with it as well. The thing is, though, with both bran and husk, to make sure you drink LOTS of water - otherwise they won't bulk up and perform their function.
If you need an urgent solution, a senna tablet, ex-lax (laxative chocolate), a tablet etc are better than keeping that constipation but it is definitely better to train your body to deal with it the natural way in the long run.
