Coon I typically take the higher number as well, except that my scale has been so out of whack that I'm not really accounting for any of it right now. I just don't trust the damn thing anymore
Shananigan fun, hmm? You're on sistah!
if its being stubborn, focus on something else this month. Track your exercise minutes, weight training, calories, or jump on my 10G challenge.
Lori I believe the running has helped a lot, although I really did not really increase my mileage until the middle of October. But it kind of evens out. I ran more often before that. Now I run less ofter, but just longer distances when I do. I think another thing that helped was taking a month or two off of strict dieting in the summer. Before the summer I had lost 60 pounds, then maintained or gained a few during June, July and August. So once the kids went back to school, I refocused, and I guess the body was ready for phase two.
Kukkie I usually take the number that shows up the most, if the scale is fluctuating. But usually if it shows a loss the first try, I don't get back on. If it show no loss or a gain, I weigh two or three (or 4 or 5) more times and take the number that shows up most consistently.
Welcome to the thread ALL newbies, you'll love it here.
Diana thanks for always thinking of me
We went to NC for Thanksgiving and we had a ball. I typed out my personals like I always do but on my husbands computer and didn't sign in thinking it was mine and lost everything.
Kukkie I need to finish reading up on November but I hope and pray that everything has been or will work out with you, hubby and your in-laws Did you decide against buying the new scale? I see you're still getting crazy numbers.
Amanda Great Job on C25K
Crainjo congrats on ONEderland how did the event with your son go. I remember reading you were going out of town but can't remember for which sport.
Aimee hope you're still enjoying the rush/craziness of the season
I've got to catch up with the rest of you, I'm sorry.
Crainjo I *thought* I was over my soreness from my run on Thanksgiving day. NOT! I tried to kneel down to get something today. I realized that my right quad (thigh) is sore. It's a deep down soreness that I didn't feel before. I think running is bad for you. I would have to give that stuff up! I actually think it could kill you. Just kidding.
Purplefirefly I hope you can make it to your Zumba class.
Cathi Congrats on the .4.
Coondocks I think that's a great plan, to bake things you don't like. I love sweets, but I avoid them. DH loves sweets, too. I just buy what he likes, but I don't like. Problem solved.
VickieLou Hi
Kukkie Have you decided which scale you are getting? (didn't you say you were getting a new scale this weekend? )
LoriAS Great job making a plan for the month. I have lost weight 3 previous times. Each time it was 100+ pounds. I can lose weight. Maintaining is the problem. Hopefully, if I stay accountable and aware, like I did while losing, I'll be able to maintain this time. Gotta try.
AKA Hi
Rennie I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving in NC.
Ran 3 miles yesterday afternoon. Was on plan all day.
Rennie The event my son did was the Junior Olympic Cross Country Meet for Louisianna and Mississippi. He qualified for Nationals but his time was not really good enough to really be competitive. So we decided not to go to South Carolina for a 200th place finish.
Diana There was actually a guy from my home town that had a heart attack while running a 5k last weekend and died. He had been a runner for a while.
182.0 I don't know what happened there, i'm hoping it has to do with added activity and not the garlic bread sticks i ate yesterday
But . . have to say if anyone is a fan of Bob Harper DVD work outs, I picked up his "Beginners weight loss" and he's evil, but in the best way possible. I didn't make it through the whole thing, shouldn't have tried to get it done after 9 but at least I tried.
Diana - That's really what I have to do to not 'sample' while I bake, if I know i don't like the taste it's a lot easier to avoid it . . . except the shortbread, that's a must make for all my christmas packages and its hard to avoid. But at least it's rich enough to me I eat one maybe 2 and i'm done.
Rennie - we're in the same boat this month, lets kick its a$$!!
it's one of those days that i just don't want to be at work, i'd rather be home reading
Hovering around 200.1 this morning, fairly consistent numbers today.. I repositioned the scale yesterday. I haven't really decided what I'm going to get yet, but I want to get something that sits flat, without rubber feet that can fall off - does that make sense?
crainjo I typically take the most consistent number, if I get one, but lately hasn't happened, so Oh wait, except for today!
Rennie I don't think I really updated anything else in November. DH and I haven't discussed the in laws, we had a pretty good week this week, up until last night. But I'm sort of zen about it right now.
Kukkie - I know exactly what you mean about the scale, i had the same issue with my old one. I ended up buying one from walmart ( i cant remember the brand) but it's glass and has bars underneath so the weight seems to be more evenly distributed. It wasn't expensive but it has given me the most conisitant numbers to date.
I'm sorry you're dealing with all that you are but so happy you're able to find a zen place
Quick update..WI @ 164.4 today, same as Monday..being that i haven't weighed since then I'm happy with that guess I'll use that as my start weight for December.
Been really busy helping over at Mothers. On my way over there now still making time to exercise though It's been sort of nice cooking for Mother and Aunt.they're learning some things about food/nutrition and I'm thrilled that I can share what I've learn to help them
