Needing Some Moral Support
 

My fiance is having back surgery tomorrow morning. I am here with him, and will be here for the first month of his recovery. I am trying to keep a brave face for him, but I am terrified. To let him know I am in this with him, I even followed the liquid diet (minus the laxative) that they have him on today. The surgery is scheduled before noon Tuesday morning. I won't be able to check my computer likely until Wednesday afternoon. I just wanted to give you ladies a heads up. I will be nursing him back to health after this, until I have to go back to Canada.

Hang in there. You have my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated on his progress. :hug:

Having worked for a neurosurgeon who specializes in back surgeries (laminectomies, etc.) I can totally understand the fear and unease you must be going through.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boyfriend; hoping for as speedy a recovery as possible.

Thanks to you too Kat and Paula. The surgery went great. We got home Wednesday night about 8 o'clock, and we went right to bed. I'm still tired, but he wanted to get up so I'm hanging out with him. We'll see the general surgeon in two weeks, and of course I'm in total nurse mode now. I'm just glad he was able to come home so soon.

Still praying for you two, and I'm glad it turned out for the best. :)

Thanks Ladies. Finally caught up on the missed sleep. I slept from 9pm last night, til about 2 this afternoon. He didn't sleep as long, but was feeling well enough to sit at the computer.

Glad all went well and that he's home. :-)
