Today was a good day. I lost 3lbs. and am so happy. I just wish my husband would think it was great. He just said, "is that all". But I'm not going to let him get me down.
Hope everyone is having a good day as well! Bella23 |
Bella - You're lucky you didn't kill him. That's what I would have to do. Is that all?!!?!? Are you seriously? Next time you two have a romping round of sex, you need to look at him in the afterglow and say, "Is that all?" Sorry, just getting angry for you. :) I'm glad it didn't get you down. You go! That's too awesome!

Bella, 3 pounds is amazing! Congratulations! :)

Bella, 3 lbs is fantastic. Hey you gotta start somewhere. What does your dh think you are going to drop 20 lbs every week or are you only supposed to announce your weight loss every 10 or 20 lbs? At least he didn't say, oh it's probably just water.
I saw this show last night where they had 3 people go on different diets for 8 weeks and see how they did. There was a woman doing increased exercise, no change in diet, a guy doing Atkins and another woman doing The Zone. The Atkins guy really stuck with the plan for the first 4 weeks and then kind of fell of the wagon for the last 4 but he still lost 17 lbs. The woman doing the Zone lost 29 lbs and I can't remember how the other woman with the exercise did, I know she lost 15 inches overall but I don't remember how much weight exactly. Interesting I thought. |
Jen,
The Zone diet rocks. I don't stick to it like you're suppose to but I do follow almost all the priciples and when it works, it's amazing. I love fruits and veggies to cut them out the way you do in Adkins. Exercise has also been amazing for me. |
Bella - I think I would have thrown him a blanket (IF I was feeling particulary generous) and made him sleep on the back porch! Seriously, 3 lbs. is GREAT! :D YOU ROCK!:cb:
And Jessica...GREAT comeback! Too funny! |
I fell off the wagon big time this week. It was my husband's birthday - I made him a cake. We didn't do too bad with the cake - one piece each and the next day he took it to work. But it was still off plan.
Then, I went on a short business trip and totally went nuts with food and beverages. (Sort of freak out when someone else is paying for all those margaritas!) Anyway, I am eating my minimum calories today to jump start my journey back. It sort of feels nice to know I'm in control again! Angi |
oh brutal!!! I had this huge long post typed in and then it wouldn't post :mad:
anyway it was mostly a long venting post that I'm not going to retype, it was theraputic just getting it off my chest. Basically I'm po'd that my dh is dragging me and the baby to parties where we (me and the baby) only end up staying about 15 minutes because the party starts at 7pm and he is normally in bed by 8pm. I mean what is the point? It is more of a hassle than anything else. We were at one place by 7pm and then had to go to another place after that (we didn't know where the party was) so by the time we get there it is 7:30 and the baby lasts about 15 minutes faced with being in a strange place with a bunch of strangers. Well that was fun! I was rude to the dh and didn't say goodbye to him, just to the room in general and then I walked out. I'll hear about that tonight when he gets home I'm sure. I don't care, I am equally po'd about going through all this. thanks for letting me vent. take care. |
Hang in there, Jen! Is there a reason he won't let you hire a babysitter for those nights he "needs" you to be at these parties? Maybe next time you can just tell him that it's too much of a hassle without a sitter, then tell him to go on, have a good time, and you'll see him when he gets home.
|
Do you all have any idea on how good this really really feels??? Oh, I've been lost without you all wondering what I've been missing here at the boards. But am back..and so damn happy about it, I could scream! Sandi..I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of you. Jen..They all suck. (Men) Everyone else...I doubt I will catch up on all of the posts that have gone bye..but know...I've missed you all. And so happy to see you all still here. Wooojoooo! |
Angie, I agree...when someone else is paying for the food and drinks, they sure do go down faster!!!!! It is really hard to keep op when you do the business meetings and trips (I'm so glad that I am stay home mom and only go to a few of my dh's business dinners).
Jen - is there a reason why your dh wants you there? I think that you did the right think leaving when the baby need to go. My dh and I used to have the same problem (he insisted that I go to parties with him and then my kids would get tired/crabby and I'd leave right after we got there) So we decided to compromise. When the parties were VERY important (smoozing with the higher-ups and such) I would get a sitter for the kids or I would just take them for a short time, but he no longer insists that I go to every party and my kids haven't been to one in a while. I think that we get along better now that I no longer feel like I'm dragged to eveything and that I cannot enjoy myself, because I'm trying to keep the kids in line. Mike appreciates that I go to those parties where he feels I should be there and I am no longer bitter about being there. If the cost of a sitter is too much, try a babysitting co-op. I have some dear friends who we often trade sitting with so we don't have to pay for a sitter. I take her kids one night and she then does the same. That way, the cost of babysitting is nominal and everyone has a good time. Jennifer - I am SOOOO glad to see that you are back, I really missed seeing you around and I was worried about you. I can tell that I had nothing to worry about and you are doing just great! Congrats on the new job. I hope that it doesn't keep you too busy. My dh and I had a Murder Mystery Party this weekend. It was soooo much fun. We all dressed up in costume and came in character (I was the spoiled daughter of a casino owner who got shot at my wedding to a biker). It was a lot of fun. I think that everyone who came really enjoyed it. The kids spent the night at a friends house (it was the first trip to a friends house overnight for both of them they are only 5 and 3). We got out the karaoke machine and before I knew it, it was 2 am!!!! Even though I couldn't stick with the food part of my plan on Saturday, I sure had a blast! |
Well I have had a not so great weekend. It started out on Sunday when my husband informed me that he is possibly going to get deployed and if he does, they won't let him out till 6 months after he gets home. Then the sink broke and he got REAL upset and went off (on the door, not me or the kids, lol) It upset me so much that all day monday I felt sick and didn't eat anything all day till about 7pm (and I mean I didn't eat ANYTHING) Then my hubby and I talked it out and I felt better. Then when we think things are getting better, today he got a call that said he was on warning that he is on call for deployment. And then to top it all off, I crashed my car into guardrails. My shoulder and back hurts so bad right now and my car looks like H#@%. I'm so upset that I could scream. I have school tomorrow and don't want to go, but have no choice. I just feel like sleeping all day.
Ok, I know, enough venting. Other then that life is great, lol. During work on Sunday, one of the fathers hit on me, lol. It was funny and flattering. My husband laughed. He said that he knows that I look good. Well I'll let you go. Thanks for listening! Bella23 |
Denise: Your party sounds like it was so much fun!
Bella: How great is that, getting hit on? :D You go, girl! As for me, had a bad couple of weeks, but only gained 4#. It could've easily been 10. This weather has me in such a slump. Ugh. Friday night me & my friend went to play pool w/a friend I hadn't seen in about 3 years, he told our mutual friend on the phone tonight that it was nice to see me, that I looked great. :) Saturday I got 2 Maybelline mascaras & 2 Revlon eyeliners for $3 total. (I dug thru the clearance bin) Sunday I saw The Hours. It's a dark movie, the Academy will love it. Don't really want to talk about the whole shuttle explosion; the whole thing is giving me the willies. Between that & Iraq I've needed extra relax time. My hard drive died @ work yesterday. I sat @ a computer w/o my email & got a lot more done than normal, so that's pretty telling. I think I'm only going to turn it on at lunch, at night, and first thing in the am, to up my productivity. :) |
good morning sunshines!
Bella, Bella... what a weekend you had! I'm not surprised at what happened to you with your car. With all that 's going on in your life - you must be one big stress ball!! I can't wait for a guy to hit on me - good for you. If some guy hit on me I may not even notice - how sad is that? Denise - your party sounds so cool! I would love to do that. You are lucky to have that many friends so close. I must say the worst thing about my life living here is that I have no friends here in town. It is the hardest thing. I've told my dh that I am sooo sick of moving. I've moved 15 times in the last 14 years. dh moved less when he was in the marines. It's just the city we live in. It's a bit too snobby to me. :snooty: Jennifer - how is your new job? tell us all about it! The last few days have been great diet wise. The weird thing is that it hasn't been that hard. Could I possibly have my grove back? :goodvibes:  hi to the rest of you! Love to you all!!! Dana |
i know, that murder mystery thing sounded awesome! i think i may have to try it sometime. don't be surprised if i email you for tips, too! =)
