Officially joining the 100lb club - Military Weight Loss

  • I've poked around in these forums a bit, but I originally set a goal of losing about 80lbs. I'm about 50lbs in already, and I've decided that I want to joined the Commissioned Corps- the public health branch of the military. The only thing holding me back is meeting the weight requirements. I have to get down to about 145 for my height.

Honestly, resetting my goal weight in my head does make it seem a little overwhelming. I do think for my body type it'll look a little thin, and it'll definitely be hard. But I will keep plugging away at it, and I think the benefits of being in the Corps might be the motivation I need to keep the weight loss going. I'm thinking about changing my ticker to 10lb increments to break it into chunks. Anywho, you'll be seeing me around the threads a lot more, and I'd appreciate any support I can get.
  • Good luck!
  • Welcome and Good Luck! It does sound like a very strong motivator, and that's always helpful.

And congrats on your -50 lbs already!

  • What a great start and a great motivator. Welcome!
  • Thanks, ladies!

  • Glad you're here!
  • Welcome. Congrats on your current weight loss and we're here to help support you through the rest of it. You have a great reason for doing it and that is helpful, but I'm sure you have found other benefits already and will find even more as you continue.
  • Welcome, Beaka! You'll find lots of support in here, that's for sure. Congratulations on being almost half way to your new goal. I'm sure you can do it, and you might be amazed at what your new body type will be after you lose a few more pounds. If you want to keep your ticker as is, you could add a 2nd one for short term goals.
