Those acrylic cups with straws

when I first started seeing them in stores, I thought...WHY? Well let me tell you, I actually decided I wanted one. $5 at Wal-Mart - you wouldn 't believe how much more water I drink in a day just because of the silly straw. Plus the lid screws on, so I don't feel like I am going to spill it all over my desk.

Try it ladies - it seems to work.

OMG!! I LOVE mine. I have one at home and one at work. And I am always taking it with me. Don't ask me why I drink more out of a straw, but I do!

patchworkpenguin 05-11-2011 01:20 PM

I've been drinking out of those big McAlister's cups with the tops for years. Have no idea why the straw is more 'fun'! but it works. I bought one of the Walmart ones {red dots} to use outside when I garden but recently have started making protein shakes in them. Add milk to the powder, remove straw, screw lid on, cover strawhole with a finger and SHAKE!!! I like that they are double lined to keep the drink cooler!

Gale02 05-11-2011 01:24 PM

Yep! I have 2 of them, one from Starbucks and one that's just clear from World Market. I love them! I drink lots more water and I really like that they fit in my cup holder (unlike my bigger straw cups.)

I read a study somewhere about how people will always drink more out of a straw if it's available. That's why a lot of restaurants are starting to only give straws if they're requested... it saves them money!

I just got back from a Disneyland vacation and I bought one of these. I'm going to have to try it out!!

Trazey34 05-11-2011 01:37 PM

I have one that looks like a soft drink cup with straw, it's wicked! I fill it with almond milk & strawberries from the blender and sip it on the way to work. Barely 100 calories can't go wrong ;)

dgramie 05-11-2011 02:27 PM

I love my cup and love putting just one squeese of mio in it. YUM!!

GirlyGirlSebas 05-11-2011 04:34 PM

Yep, I bought a couple of those! My favorite is the one with green dots. :D

JamiSue3916 05-11-2011 04:53 PM

Love mine too! That and MiO are the ONLY reasons I can CHOKE down my water everyday! :o

Arctic Mama 05-11-2011 07:01 PM

What are these things you speak of? I am not sure I have ever seen one.

I just use a big insulated cup I got from the hospital when having my kids. I have two of the same and rotate :)

JamiSue3916 05-11-2011 07:10 PM

This is mine. But there are probably a million variations of the same idea. :D

I Need One!

eyre13 05-11-2011 10:38 PM

Hmmmm... I always look at these, this thread seems like a lot of great reasons to buy one! lol.

My husband really wanted to get a pair of these for some reason. I asked him, "Why do we need plastic versions of the glasses we already have?" We happened to find some on sale, though, so we decided to get one for each of us.

LOVE these things!

They look nifty, they keep me from spilling stuff as easily, they have fun straws, they have lids that keep the cats from trying to drink my water, and they won't break--what's not to love? <3

casey87 05-12-2011 02:35 AM

I love these cups, too!

One time I filled mine with diet coke and dropped it. That coke shot out of there like a volcano. It was really fun wiping down every surface in my kitchen, including the ceiling.

cherrypie 05-12-2011 10:23 AM

maybe I will have to pick one up. I never seem to find a water bottle that works for me. I remember years ago I had one from 7-11 and I loved that one.

LesliesMom 05-12-2011 10:32 AM

Hahahahaha - casey87 - I bet is was REALLY FUN clining every surface of your kitchen. That's hilarious, I could vision the diet coke coming out like a volcano.

Thanks for the laugh this morning. :)

Glad everyone else likes their cups as well - I bought the blue dotted one from walmart - LOVE IT!!

Those who have not tried it definately should!!

I have a 16 oz klean kanteen that is insulated that I use. Ice stays ice, even with numerous refills throughout the day for about 24 hours.

But those cups are super cute. :)

MablesGirl 05-16-2011 09:23 AM

I just bought one at Walmart to take to work, so I can quit using so many bottles. They are so cute.

eyre13 05-16-2011 09:35 AM

I totally went out and bought one this weekend...... Ihaven't used anything else! lol. They're awesome! :)

djs06 05-16-2011 11:08 AM

Add another fangirl to the list! I have one on my desk at work, 24oz, and it's so much easier to drink my intended water. I have no idea why, but I am in love with the thing.

bellastarr 05-21-2011 09:35 PM

i love these too, i have 4 of them... a brown, pink, orange, and purple and it is true, it makes it more fun to drink water! love these! got mine at bed, bath, and beyond

astrophe 05-22-2011 04:32 AM

I'm probably one of the few who dislikes the straw cup style. I'm content with a Rubbermaid Chug bottle or a Kleen Canteen.

It's all about the straw baby! I have 2 20 oz nalgene-like bottles with straws that screw on. I keep one at work and one at home. I love those babies. Once I lost my work one and was in a panic. I found it in the garbage--the janitors are required to throw them away. Crisis averted...

Emme 05-22-2011 09:47 AM

I got one and I love it! I actually drink more water when I am drinking through one of these cups compared to bottled water.
