Job stress - Help me stay on plan please!

Hi all,

I have some very very aggressive deadlines and stress at work this week, and my old habits have been to binge eat when I am stressed out.

Instead, I am posting a thread to this board, hoping that talking with all of you wonderful ladies will keep me from opening my mouth and shoving food into it randomly and often. :o

The hardest thing I am learning to do with this weight loss is stop my emotional and stress eating.

Do any of you eat when you are stressed at work?

I know exactly how you feel. I eat when I'm stressed, when I'm happy, when I'm sad, sick, etc.

So what I try to do is ask myself if I'm actually hungry or am I eating to kill whatever emotion it is that I'm feeling. I know it's really hard for me not to shove something in my mouth to appease whatever emotion I'm feeling so I'm really working on this, too. It's super hard for me now because I just had a baby and started back at work full time. So I am really stressed lately. And my 5 lb weight gain in the past month shows that I'm not handling it very well.

I wish I could offer some advice but I really just wanted to give you a big  and tell you I completely understand. And that you're not alone.

Ditto Abby's . All habits are hard to break, one thing you could try if it's too difficult is to have healthy snacks around you. Raw almonds have been working great for me because they keep my mouth so busy.

Stay strong. Step away from your desk for a few minutes as often as you can and take a quick walk around your building or office.

You can beat this!

Thanks so much for the support JamiSue3916 and AbbySinthe! :) I just got off of a really stressful conference call with one of our clients and sure enough, my hunger pains have gone up exponentially. :cbg:

I am ignoring them, and replying to this thread instead.

Thanks so much for the support!

Jami made a good point - Try and keep low cal snacks like veggies or popcorn, around so if you DO mindlessly munch something, it's not a huge hit to your calorie bank for the day. You can do this! Good job! xoxo
