- grateful for my gratitude friends and this daily thread. If on am on my food plan or not at all on my food program - I always post in this thread. It's like an commitment & anchor that keeps me coming back 3fc no matter how my food is going.
- part of the paperwork done (still much to do)
- so fun to see the fashions at the Oscars. I turn the sound off often. I want to see the clothes but don't want to hear all of carrying on
- a new NCIS tonight.. love that show
- DH loves the home delivery of the daily paper, what a convenience.
- GS can write his name, mommy, daddy and I love you. - this makes a grandma proud
- music anytime I feel like listening
- trying again
- friends, family, YOU all, internet, fb, cellphone

Different type of gratitude today...
My post is different this morning. I thought about a new post to the entire forum but decided that I just want to share with my friends on this thread. Sorry about the length.
I have posted before that we have 2 grown sons living with us. I have been concerned about both of them and I am grateful for the growth that I am seeing in both of them.
The youngest has now been working since Oct and is planning on taking a technical course at night. This is not the degree that I want for him, but, at least, he will have a marketable skill. In the meantime, he is working a decent and honorable job. Since starting that job, he has lost 30 pounds. He is feeling so much better that he thinks that he will start back at Karate. During his high school years he was really into Karate and earned a black belt. I think that getting back into it will really help him physically and mentally. I am proud of him.
With my older son, I got sneaky. He is morbidly obese. He has always had health problems and I have been worried about the added problems of obesity. I never said anything to him about his weight because I did not think it would help. Over the past few months, he has said something several times about his weight being 250. I did not think that he realized how much weight he has put on. I think that he weighs over 300 pounds. Anyway, to the sneaky part.... I just put a scale in their bathroom. Did not say a word.
Last night DS#2 told me and DS#1 that he hit the 30 pounds lost mark so, of course, I congratulated him. DS#1 told us that he had weighed and was shocked to see how much he weighed. (The sneaky plan worked.) We were both very sympathetic. He said that he wants to lose weight, so I just asked how I can help. He asked me to get rid of my husband's sweets and soft drinks. I learned a long time ago that DH won't get rid of that stuff so DH and I compromised. They have been moved into our bedroom.
DS#1 has decided to follow DS#2's plan which is
* don't drink any calories
* still eat junk but less of it
* move
Not exactly a healthy plan but better than he ate before. I actually think DS#2 will have an easier time of it because he likes fruit and veggies while DS#2 will only eat a little fruit and no veggies.
Anyway, I am grateful that my sons are willing to try. I pray for them to have strength and for me to have the wisdom to help them in the ways that they need my help and to know when to keep my mouth shut.

time2lose.. I just saw your username. Wow! Mine is almost the same. I promise I didn't copy you lol. I actually joined in 2007 (didn't post and recently asked to have the date changed to when I started this time in feb) i've used time2loseit for several years off and on at different times.
Do they allow name changes here? Maybe I should change it..

I'm very grateful for a lot of things. I'm grateful that I have a job that I love, great co-workers, great friends, my DH of course, the fact that Spring is coming, and generally that life is good.
Most of all, I'm so grateful that my dad, who had a mild stroke in September, is 100% fine, back to chopping wood like a maniac and hiking every day! Turns out it was a small blood clot that could have ruptured and done serious damage, but instead raised his blood pressure so much it caused this mild stroke and then dissipated. No damage done! SO great to have him fit & fabulous and the pair of us peeing our pants laughing at something absurd while my mom rolls her eyes at us LOL

Kathy,
I don't mind the similar names at all. So, if you want to, keep it. When I chose a username in 2008, I did not think to see if there was a time2loseIT. Probably because I was not trying to lose "IT" (all the extra weight) but just some of "IT". I just knew that I had to lose some weight or lose my mobility and, possibly, my life. I was thinking that it was the time to lose. Anyway, the username has been good for me and if having a similar works for you, keep it. I will be looking for you!

Today, I am grateful for...
* The sun that is shining brightly into my window
* The food that I will be eating to keep me healthy and keep my body running
* The people who I surround myself with, because they are positive and influence my life
* My happiness

I'm so grateful for the unconditional support of my boyfriend, the occasional support of my mother, and bright, sunny spring days! I can't wait to take my daily walk when the weather is this beautiful!
