I was gone, but now I'm back!

So, in my house February was a terrible month, health wise. One daughter had tonsillitis 3 times (the 3rd time was just horrid), the other daughter had tonsillitis, then scarlet fever, then impetigo. I was up all hours of the night on and off for weeks, and I just gave up with trying to stay "on plan". Even when I was on plan, my weight loss was so slow that I found it discouraging.

I went blindly and wildly off plan for a couple of weeks, and somehow managed to not gain a single pound!! I am back on track now, come heck or high water, I am staying on plan too. When I was off plan I thought I was making life easier, but I felt bad. Not just guilty, but physically I felt bad. I was tired all the time, I stopped drinking water, stopped going to the gym, and really it was amazing to see the change!

I have been back on plan for a week and a bit now, and feel really good. I am drinking about 80-96 ounces of water a day, I am exercising (even if it's just a relaxed walk) at least 30 minutes a day, and I am eating 1600-1800 calories a day. I weighed in for a challenge on another site on Monday morning, and was 282.5, this morning I hopped on the scale, just out of curiosity, and it read 280.5! YAY!!

But best of all, my husband said to me "You look like you've lost weight". And he didn't say it to make me happy, we weren't talking about it, I just happened to stand up, and out of his mouth it came!

I feel like I'm doing the right things. I feel like I am finding new ways to handle every day situations, rather than going without. Tonight my family is having hamburgers for supper. Rather than making myself a completely different meal, like i would have done in the past, I am just going to grill myself up a chunk of chicken breast, and have a burger too! For me it's not just about weight loss, it's about learning to live a new lifestyle!

Good to be back!

Good job getting back on plan and focusing on good habits again. The longer you do it the easier it is to weather the storms so to speak. I also just adjust my family meals to fit my diet needs like a turkey burger lettuce wrapped instead of beef and a bun or taco salad without the chips, cheese, sour cream but a true salad with salsa and 2 tablespoons taco meat over the top for flavor.

Keep up the good work!!
