I've lost just about my 10 year old and 5 year old combined - and I honestly think I would kill myself if I tried to hold both of them simultaneously . It's a great picture!

Great visual!!

Look how strong you are, too!!!!

Do I look strong in that pic? :D I think I look strong in sleeveless shirts. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to heave him up on my back. I thought it was going to be difficult. It was actually quite difficult keeping my balance just to get my second foot up on the scale, which isn't that far a leap!

:yay: That's awesome. Congrats.

:o Although, I initially misread the thread title.

Curious minds want to know what you thought it read. :)

Now that's a picture I'd love to see!! The 10 year old on your back and 5 year old in your arms? And a spotter real close by!

I don't know about her, but my first thought when I saw it was that "lost" was being used as a euphamism for "died." I was glad to see it was a happy thread!

Whoops. I'm so bad about double meanings and not seeing them.

I LOVE it! :carrot: You are both cutie patooties!

What an inventive way to visualize that amount of weight & to really make it feel "real."

(I have to ask: Who took the picture, since you're not holding the camera & using a mirror?)

Maybe I have a dark turn of mind, as I thought the thread was about a miscarriage or that it was a journey back in time, into some trauma in your own childhood. You know, like The Day I Left My Childhood Behind (usually because of something sad or unpleasant that causes a child to have to act as stoic as an adult).

Also, did you explain to your son the reason you were taking it? Did he think it was cool? I don't think I've ever asked what your kids think about your weight loss. Actually, what do peoples' kids think of their weight loss? We hear a lot about mothers & fathers & siblings & significant others, but not about what the offspring are thinking.

That's amazing. It's things like this that keep me going. You are an insertion.

My ten year old took the shot. They've known I've been waiting to match the younger's one weight for a long time now.

My children are very, very proud of me. Their favorite thing to do when I meet new people is whip out the ipod touch and show them past photos. I'd tell them to quit except they truly don't understand and are just so proud. They've been telling me a lot lately how pretty I am and sometimes they just stare, especially after seeing an old photo. My youngest loves that he can wrap his arms around me and he does so often. They're both flabbergasted that I can wear their clothes! :D I wore my youngest's Steelers shirt for the Superbowl and my oldest son accidentally washed his white OSU shirt with his darks making it pink, so now it's mine.

I hope no one gets to bothered by the title. It certainly wasn't what I intended. I miscarried myself 5 years ago and it simply didn't cross my mind.

So one kid went piggyback while the other recorded the momentous occasion? That's wonderful.

I think it's absolutely fantastic that your sons are happy about your weight loss & very proud of you & have been your cheering section. There's all kinds of good stuff that you're modeling for them about minding one's health & caring for oneself & about working on a long-term personal project of self-improvement that requires daily work & patience.

(Heck, it's good to see you modeling that for ANYONE, including us adults on this board, let alone for your children.)

Since your children are both boys, I am wondering if that makes it a little easier than if they were both girls.

Personally, for me, my mother & I both have difficulties with our weight & body image, and any time one of us has lost a significant amount of weight, we have all kinds of mixed emotions: We're happy, and proud of people commenting, but there's also some self-searching & comparisons going on, and yes, some jealousy, even though we try to hold onto our better natures.

LOL . I would need to add several of my kids to my back. Awesome picture! The jeans look good on you too. What size jeans are you in now? You looks so small.

That is so awesome!! WTG!
