Good Morning!

I am starting to have signs and symptoms of TTOM. I went to bed cold, woke up hot and I woke up earlier than the alarm clock. So, I know what that means. I will stay on plan, but expect a slight gain from water weight. It is what it is. Time to get psyched up for it.

Have a great day, everyone! I hope you are all safe and sound with the bad weather. We had thunderstorms and rain last night.

I will be in the process of closing out my monthly books at work, so I won't time time to do a lot of personals for the next week. I will check in and read about all of your successes every day.

Calories for yesterday: 1440

Weigh In: 160.8

No Change

Jan 31: 206.9 TOM

1: 206.1 -.8 TOM
2: 204.3 - 1.8 TOM

Yet again, weighed myself first and got 203.9 and then weighed again and got 204.3! My body is such a tease! I tried to restrict the carby snacks yesterday, so maybe that made the difference. I did not get to go to the gym yesterday, nor will I be able to today, as we're in the middle of a crazy ice storm here in central Indiana.

Good day everyone!

I'm in zen mode getting my thoughts together, pushing hard to my next goal! Holding steady at 208.8..I'm satisfied cause I've notice a pattern of not losing until after the 8th so I'm focused and giving this fat a fit

Morning all. Down .6 to 221.6 today. I didn't fulfill my dream of being out of the 220's by Feb 1, but I feel good about where I am.

Starbrite -- I'm sorry about the stress you are facing. Are you any closer to making your decision? Maybe the stress will lesson once your path is decided and you can move on to planning.

Diana -- Morning! TTOM and closing the books!? Bleh!

Alsten -- Good job on your 1 lb loss

Kristi -- Congrats on your drop! We are being hit by the storm as well, it's a snow day for my DS, and a work at home day for me

Ona -- Channel those great positive thoughts! You can totally reach your 2nd goal this month...we are here to help you -- just say the word when you need some motivation or encouragement.

Hello folks, good morning.

Taking a minute for personals - really because I am stalling on getting up and shoveling, but also because I love you all too.

Asherdoodles - great start! Keep it up.

Angie - I think you can make it! I'm looking to get out of the 200's this month ... and I better make it *grumbles*

OnaMi - zen is good on those days you hold steady. I have a LOT of them ... I should know!

Kristi - I know all about the weather keeping one from the gym, it's been making me VERY grouchy lately. You and I might hit 200 at just around the same time!

starbrite - hang in there!

Journey - Welcome to the thread, good luck!

Best of luck to everyone else who hasn't checked in for day 2 yet - see you soon!

And finally the Carter report: down 1 to 202, for a new low. \o/

I have watched the scale go down 2 days in a row! I spent January bouncing. I have come up with a new plan of attack and I’m hoping that two days down in a row means it is working. My food was pretty awesome for January, but I think my body was tired of the same exercise all the time. So my new plan is Zumba on M,W, and F with C25K on T,Th, and Sa. I’m going to leave Sunday open for whatever I’m in the mood for including a break if I need one that week. I also start with a personal trainer in the weight room today. Yay!

FitKristi - I totally feel your pain cyster! Do you like spicy? I go through a lot of wasabi peas during TOM. They give me a carby snack feel without being nearly as carby as some things I could eat. Plus, the wasabi makes me eat them more slowly and makes my snack last longer, I’m also a big fan of air popped popcorn. I buy the old fashioned plain kernals and some paper lunch bags. Put a couple handfuls of kernals in a bag, fold the top a couple times and pop it in the micro just like micro popcorn - only healthy.

MadameZombie - I have a bodybugg (counts calories burned) and a bad ankle, so I’ve learned some ways to burn calories while sitting. (Thankfully though, since I’ve lost some weight and gotten more fit I hardly ever have bad ankle days anymore.) If you sit up straight and put your arms in a jogging position and then twist your upper body back and forth, kinda like you are doing ‘the twist’ only just your upper body that burns nearly as many calories as a brisk walk. You can also do shadow boxing while seated and that burns quite a bit. If I combine the two and twist and shadow box with some light weights in my hands I get nearly the same calorie burn as I do if I jog at 4- 4.5mph. I hope your foot heals quickly. I imagine it hurts a lot, but don’t let the pain derail you, your body can heal better on good nutrients than on junk.

Kukkie - Try to look at it as you quit smoking without gaining all of the weight that most people gain when they quit instead of looking at it as only having lost 11 pounds. I know quitting is hard, been there, done that. I found that dieting is much easier now that I don’t smoke because I can taste my food more. Exercise is of course easier since I have healthier lungs. You tackled that one and you can tackle this one too.

Lnoelparis - I am totally with you. I spent the second half of January bouncing between 188 and 194.

Still holding steady at 214.4. Realized that I did a whole lot more exercise than just go to the gym yesterday. I did a little bit of free weight work at home and I shoveled my super long sidewalk twice yesterday. I am mentioning it all today because I am SO SORE!!!!!!!!!! OMG! LOL It feels good to be sore, but wow.

Not too sore to clean the whole house while my son is snowed in at my parent's house though! Time for me to get moving.

Be back in a bit.

down .4 to 170.8, despite the yummy Pat and Oscar's breadstick I ate last night for "desert." I've been on my period for 3 full weeks (talking to the doctor about that today - I think it's left over side effects from a med I am no longer taking), and the cravings are starting to get me. Thankfully (?), my stomach has been upset most of that time, so it starts bothering me if I get too snacky!

down to 171 this morning, which is fantastic for sure, but im starting to notice a trend, big drops in teh begning of the month then an upswing.
Is that normal? It almost seems like my recovery from TOM takes 2 weeks in itself . . . shananigans.

Gonna catch up with everyone and BBL for personals, looks like its a good month so far (all 2 days of it ha ha)
