Default Size Confusion

I have lost 55 pounds and feel so good. But, I am so perplexed. I think over 6 years ago when I weighed 209 Iwas in a size 18. I can't even zip size 18. I am definately in size 20 jeans (Levi's). It seems that size 18 is so far away.

Does this seem right?
What is your weight vs. clothing size?
Can you weigh less but still be bigger? I don't know how this is possible. I work out so much. 2 hours a day 6 days a week. Isn't muscle supposed to be smaller then fat?

I was an 18 at 190, now that I"m getting older the weight is coming off differently, I have no idea what size I'll be at different weights now.

But I can't wait to find out.

Stacy you and I are about the same weight and I can wear size 18 in some brands but not Levi's. I bought a pair of Levi's from the Thrift store (like new) and I can get them up and zipped but I can't move or breathe! So I have decided that I can't wear them until I lose some more weight. I really think Levi's run a little smaller.
Also some of my 18 jeans are tight and some are really loose. But I can't wear a size 16 yet that is for sure. I have very curvy hips and bottom so I think that is the reason I have to have larger sizes. I have to get my jeans big enough to get over my bottom and then they stick out in the back.
Oh well, I don't care I like having a curvy body
Don't worry as we lose more weight and get closer to our goal the smaller sizes will happen too.

What does your workout look like? Do you strength train? Strength training will get you a smaller body at a higher weight. Is it possible you were more toned the last time you were 209?

stacygee I have noticed a size difference between brands and cut of the jeans. I will wear a larger size in the lower rise or new style jeans.

I'm 4'11/5ft 208 and I wear size 16, which are pretty loose right now. By 200 I should be in size 14. at my heighest 224lbs I was in an 18. defies logic, but i guess that's just how my body is built. I normally shop at Sears to get my jeans.

Eliana- I do strength train 3 times a week with a trainer. Plus Cardio 6 times a week for 45 min to an hour. I let my body go for so long that it is possible I was more toned but would be hard to believe. I have been strength training since feb and have never done this much weight lifting.

These bodies of ours are baffling aren't they? I guess I am just anxious. Although I am proud of my weight loss I thought I would be smaller with this much lost then I am.
