Do you like feeling full?
Do you like feeling full? Not satiated, I actually mean physically full.
Ive grown to dislike feeling even slightly physically full. Its uncomfortable and unnecessary. I do often enjoy feeling satiated by eating foods I enjoy, that taste yummy, that have the right nutrients to fuel me, etc. It was a slow transition away from the eating in volume mentality. The idea that you should eat a max volume of food for your allowed calorie intake just doesnt work for me. I do make sure to get plenty of fiber, but I tend to favor calorie dense foods to avoid constantly feeling full. Just wondering what others thoughts are on this. It is such a contrast with my former eating habits. For decades I was physically overfull, often to sickness, daily. |
Hi xty! :)
For me, it depends on the day. Some days, I am very happy to just be satiated but there are those days (and I do have a major problem with binges), when I want to feel full and nothing else will do...although I try really hard not to give in to those desires. If I do eat until I'm FULL (not even stuffed, but just full), I always feel guilty afterwards. If I binge and I am beyond full...stuffed...then I not only feel terrible guilty but also physical discomfort. But, luckily, on most days, I love to just feel satiated by whole, nutritious foods. It makes me feel good physically but also mentally and sometimes, if I'm lucky, even spiritually! ;) Irene |
I do not like feeling full. That bloated icky feeling. But I do like feeling full, as in not wanting to eat anymore.
Unfortunately some days, it would not matter if I ate a whole cow, would not feel full at all. |
It actually makes me feel quite anxious, which is not good, but on the other hand it does mean that on the (very rare) occasions when I feel full I take to reflect whether I did actually over eat.
I have different awarenesses (sometimes) of different fulnesses: Sometimes I'll eat a big meal, where the size is mostly from veggies or salads, and that might make me feel fleetingly full but doesn't last. If I ate something too carby, that makes me feel heavily full, and I try and avoid that. If I ate mindlessly, like a box of chocolates for example, (wow, remember those days!) I could still get a whole box down before I registered full. I tend to eat much more consciously now, indeed more slowly, so satiety kicks in much more recognizably. |
I LOVE feeling physically full and hate when I am hungry....
To tell the truth I don't think I can identify when I am not hungry... If it was up to me I would eat all the time!!! I have cravings all the time too... and if I start eating, I have hard time stopping... I don't think I even know what to feel satiated mean... If I could only learn that... I wish I could control my eating better.... |
I love feeling full. I get an endorphin rush from it.

http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/a.../divider-2.jpg I hate feeling full. Ewww. When you're so full that it actually HURTS, ugh, what a horrible feeling! http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/a.../divider-2.jpg |
Love it, miss it.

Feeling full sneaks up on me these days. I don't mind the feeling and I always quit eating when I get there. But I can feel full on half a bowl of chili.
Now "stuffed" is a different story. I haven't felt stuff in over a year now. :D That is just fine with me. |
I hate it, always have. I'd eat until I was sick and then be miserable. :(

Bleh. I don't like feeling full. It brings up all the past guilts and bad feelings. Satiated/content is much better.

I love feeling full -- not STUFFED -- just full. My thing "back in the day" was to constantly graze, have a nice meal but 10 minutes later eat a bag of M&Ms, never felt hungry or 'done eating' you know? ? it's hard to explain LOL but now when dinner is done and i have a nice full tummy (but not fit to bursting) i feel replete and only need a cup of tea in the evening, no more grazing :)

I love full - the feeling of finishing a good-sized meal and knowing I won't be hungry again for a long time.
I dislike stuffed - the feeling of having eaten too much and regretting that I overate. |
I can't believe I'm saying this but I don't think I do anymore. I've been eating small/normal portions for three months now, and the sight of big meals has been making me feel a bit sick lately.
I used to enjoy it, being packed full of junk food. :D Eat til you physically can't fit anymore food in, that was satiety. Then when the smallest space in the tum clears, OMG! Starving! |
