Makes me laugh :) The women tell you to be careful, and the men are giving you the eye. Watch your back, those ladies might come after you and try to steal your secrets!!! :)

Relish and enjoy - because actually, there Will come a time when (some of) the comments die off and you'll kind of miss them!

It was over 50lbs last time for me before anyone noticed, and I eventually lost 106. Then the comments ranged from 'you look so good' to 'have you finished your chemotherapy?"

And then suddenly, one day the comments dried up, people got used to what I'd lost, new people I met just saw me as normal, and I really only meet men in the context of my job, and my job and my uniform kind of de-sex me, so I wasn't ever in male attention territory.

Enjoy your deserved praise!

Don't people say the most stupid things sometime?! They don't know what to say...they are sometimes jealous, they think you must be 'sick' instead your hard work, they things you've had GBS - so many things.

YOU KNOW where and how you got to where you are.

Try to pay no attention. You are doing GREAT.

Sorry, but this made me laugh in a good way! :D
This sounds a tad depressing. Do you feel better though overall after losing weight?

I can't wait to get some positive comments because it can get really sickening hearing negative ones all the time.

starbrite, I wish some people would just keep their comments to themselves at times. I think people can so easily become intimidated (esp other women). People can be so shallow at times. Just keep your head straight, cause only you know how hard you have worked. Take the comments that you like, and don't worry about the others.

I certainly do. I feel physically a lot better, and I'm working hard on the headstuff. What I have discovered though (indeed once in the 1980s, once in 2004, you'd think I'd learn!) is that losing the weight is fantastic, no question - but it's not the answer to everything. If there is headstuff to tackle fat, it's still there slimmer. For me, anyway. And actually, it's harder to do slimmer, because if I'm having a crppy day when I'm fat, it's easy to blame the fat for everything. If life is still a bit gloomy once slimmer, that's scarily difficult to tackle.

Rosinate - i think you have just explained what I'm feeling - the headstuff is what has stoppped me achieving this twice before - I get to the compliments and men looking at me stage, then something in my head causes me to fail.
Not this time - I will succeed!!
