I also posted in the 30 somethings, but wanted to share it here too, I hope you don´t mind!:) For those in both forums, I´m sorry for the redundancy...

Hey !

I had commented in the 100´s group and in the Biggest looser thread that I had completed my first triathlon this past weekend. And since I love seeing everyone´s picture and progress, I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to share a couple pictures from the race...

A couple people asked me about how I trained for it. There are a lot of very helpful websites, if someone is interested, I´d be happy to talk about it, just PM me ! But basically I designed my training around my work schedule, and I would do at least 1 hour a day, usually divided in 2 activities (swim, spinning or running), then on saturdays I would take long bike rides (about 2- 3 hours) and rest on sundays.

It was a really amazing experience, and I´d definitely recommend it, if I can do it, almost anyone can do it!!! Now I´m beginning to train for a half-marathon that will take place in the end of March, I´m looking forward to it, and hopefully I´ll have reached my goal weight by then !!

Congrats! Isn't it the most awesome feeling when you finish it and say, "OMG, I am a triathlete!"

Highly recommend the book, Slow Fat Triathlete for people looking to train for one.

Congratulations, triathlete! :carrot:

And I second Jessica's recommendation. That book was the best, most helpful book on the subject - I even recommend it to my non-fat, non-slow friends who are considering triathlons, because it has such a good mix of practical and inspirational information for regular people (i.e. non-elite athletes)
