NSV - Time for new undies!!!

I was just looking at myself in the mirror as I was dressing and realized how ridiculously huge my underwear is now. OK, they're just cotton grannies, but now they are bloomers- they actually hang over at the leg openings and I have to tuck them into my pants. Honestly, is that what dealing with boxer shorts is like? Blech!

I just find it strange that although I know I've gone from a snug 24W to 18/20W in jeans, I hadn't noticed how huge my panties are now. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself. :D

So... where does one go for decent cheap cotton 'transitional' panties? I'm not quite ready for Victoria's Secret yet.;) I don't even know what size I need!!!

Awesome!! This is one of my favorite NSVs :D

I get my panties at Wal Mart :p

Just got back from JC Pennys and they were having a good sale on fancy underwear.

Undies have always been my splurge item. Fashion Bug has some cute/trashy ones that I've picked up. Lane Bryant has matching sets that I dearly love.

:o Let's not talk about the number of corsets and teddies I have in various sizes...

Same thing happened to me when I passed by a mirror one morning. I had the very same epiphany! Time for new undies!

If you have a Ross nearby, check out Delta Burkes boycut undies. I pay about 2.99 a pair and love them! Their fit is great and they come in such pretty patterns!

Enjoy this NSV!!!

Marshalls, 1.99-4.99 for cute bikini/boyshort styles in US underwear sizes 5-9 (Small-XXL)!

I'm overdue for some new underroos myself since my ahem posterior has completely disappeared >_<

Wow, thanks for all the leads! I guess I'll just grab whatever is affordable and strikes my fancy; I won't be wearing them for long anyway. :carrot:

Er... what are 'boycut' panties? I have such a strong aversion to panty lines that I tend to go, er, commando, unless I'm wearing a skirt, and I get the feeling that panty fashion has moved on without me. :o

My transitionals are from M&S ~ quite cute but not too expensive, and yet not bottom of the barrel cheap.l

Awesome NSV! :D

This article explains the different styles of panties and has drawings of the styles.

For transition panties, I'm a Wal*Mart shopper. They carry packages of Fruit of the Loom and Hanes that have about 6 pairs, and frequently they have a bonus pair or 2 in there also. I just got some on Saturday - 8 pairs in a package for $5. Only 62 cents a pair.....that works for me!

But, believe you me, I'm dreaming about sexy undie day!!!!

I love undies, love them love them love them - the fancier, frillier, sexier, the better. To me there is nothing more powerful than being in a boring suit knowing I have neon green frilly underwear and matching bra on :) And now? LOL - I think I still wear some of my maternity undies :)

I like the seamless stretchy kind.. gosh don't know what the material is but it's not the 'cottony' feeling stuff. I'll have to look - anyway, this are great and can go up (and down) with the weight quite a bit. I too need to get new ones but I'm just not going to do it yet until I'm tucking them too I guess (great visual btw).

There's another brand I love - and try them once you get to goal, and they're called "hanky panky panties" - they come in boy shorts, and thongs - and I know thongs aren't for everyone, but they don't have lines, and these things are gods gift to thongs! They don't roll, ride up, nothing :) I don't were them currently as it would be akin to a sausage wearing a rubber band, but I've saved them all!! :)

Target is really good for undies - I boycotted WalSnot long ago.

Happy panty shopping! I had a hard time threwing out all my way too big cute and sexy panties. I love to be fancy always but what else can you do with 50 pair that fall off you?

caryesings 10-18-2010 11:59 AM

Ok, I'm about to reveal one of my odd habits that might help in this situation. When undies get to the point they should be tossed, I wash them one more time and throw them in my suitcase. This is the underwear that goes on vacation with me and gets tossed instead of laundered or saved for home laundry. I do the same thing with the old bathing suits and running shoes. My suitcase always comes home lighter from a trip then when I left.

RobinD 10-18-2010 01:50 PM

When I was thin I loved thongs! Didn't expect to, thought they'd be butt floss and drive me mad, but nope - when I get enough weight off I'm giving them another go. "a sausage wearing a rubber band" OMG, my coffee nearly hit the screen!

Hanky Panky Panties... hehehe, I'll definitely check those out. :-)

Careysings, that is BRILLIANT!!! I don't think it'll work with this batch that are already too big, but down the road a ways? CLEVER!!!!
