Halloween Candy

Halloween candy is everywhere! They are advertising heavily on TV and right in front of the grocery store is a giant display.

What is your plan for dealing with Halloween candy?

I've been able to walk by the gigantic grocery display with no problem. However, If I bring it home to pass out to the kids, I'm not sure I'll be able to resist.

I've been thinking about it for a while, trying to figure out how to handle it. Like me the kids probably don't need the candy. But what do I give them instead? The police advise people not to eat apples because they are easy to hide razor blades or pills in. (Has this ever even happened or is this mass fear?). I think I'm going to give out Halloween stickers and pencils instead. That way I won't have anything tempting lying around and the kids will have less junk to eat.

My plan is just not to eat any. I haven't had a single piece yet. Yesterday when I was in wal mart, I was going to get one of those individual reeses pumpkins (my faves) but they only had them in packages, not individually and I know better than to buy a pack of those things and trust myself to only have one.

I'm not buying any candy for trick or treators, and so far I've been able to ignore big displays at the grocery store.

I won't even have any around to tempt me at all.

What a wonderful idea! Emphasizes creativity and they don't feel deprived! :D

PS- It's especially hard for me because I work in a grocery store with huge candy displays. Haven't touched a piece yet!

I'll probably just have hubby give out the kinds I don't like. I don't really have a sweet tooth, so only a few favorites would be seriously tempting.
