Regaining Weight

I don't want to Regain any more weight back. I got down to 207 last year.
I now weight 248.8. I think I'm finally ready to get serious about losing this weight again. I count calories. I just went to the gym tonight after not going for about a month.

Big hugs on the regain, and good for you for getting back on track! None of us are perfect, many of us will always struggle against our weight... You have taken a huge step in acknowledging your slide before it goes further.

I wish you the very best in re-establishing those good, healthy habits :)

I'm so glad to hear of this VickieLou. Put the brakes on now. Stop that regain and start re-losing!!

Okay, so you're counting calories and have headed to the gym.

What else? How else are you going about tackling this? Are you food journaling - you write it down BEFORE it goes in your mouth? Are you mapping out your food schedule in advance? Do you know what you're eating for each meal and snack ahead of time? Did you get rid of the junk? All of it? Did you stock your home with healthy, lower calorie foods? Are you making delicious, yet healthy foods so you won't miss the other stuff? Do you have activities in place to do instead of eating when you're bored, stressed? Have you set yourself some rules, some boundaries; made up some definite no's? Are you ready and willing to work past that initial, temporary discomfort of wanting something and not having it? Are you prepared to tell yourself no when you have a craving? Have you devised some strategies to get you through the early stages as you lose the bad habits and establish the new ones?

In other words, what's the rest of your plan? How are you setting yourself up for success?

I want this for you SO badly my friend. I'm here, cheering you on. You can SO do this. I am SO certain of it. Go for it!!! Give it 150 percent!!! Dig down deep. You've got it in you. I know it for sure..... :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

Robin said it so, so well. Please forgive yourself and move forward. You CAN do it.

I regained some over the summer as well, but something SNAPPED in my brain the other day and I'm back on track now.

We'll get there!

I'm pulling for you too, more than you know! I think about your struggles often and I wish I could just pull you along! But you don't need that...you have the ability within yourself! You do, you do!

Have you figured out what is holding you back? If you can pinpoint, you can fix it. I'm sure you've heard me spout off about my year long commitment to being on plan. I did that because I pinpointed my problem which was giving up because progress was too slow, in my mind. I put into action a plan that would make that error of mine fail safe.

Can you commit to one week of being totally on plan? And then regroup and go for another week. By then you'll be strong enough to say, hey, I've got this down! And then you can commit to one month.

I still break it down like that on small goals, like giving up chocolate, or after eating something that triggered snacking. I just commit to a short period of time. That short period time is actually detox time and I always come out of it with no more cravings.
