Place your bets...how long will it last?

  • We are now the proud owners of a new-to-us treadmill. Right now my boys and I are fighting over it! So, who wants to place bets on how long the frequent use of it will last?

I think we'll use it...I think I'LL use it. I want it for when I'm watching TV. DH loves to watch movies but I don't sit still well. And I have several shows I enjoy, but again...I just don't sit still well. And I like to do a little something after dinner to burn things off. I find the scale likes me better when I do.

So I really have faith in myself, if not my family.
  • You have done so well that I'll bet you will use it for a very long time! It will become part of your daily/weekly routine.

Let us know how you are doing with it.
  • Congrats! I love the treadmill my bf's parents gave us. I sit the portable DVD player on it, pop in a movie and get to walking
  • too funny. never say never. I lived in an apt bldg where one of the tenants left an exercise bike in the lobby. I took it and used it for quite a while.
  • This is really cracking me up - we had a treadmill once, loved it - then I had the kids and stopped using it, and sold it (in my defense it was because we didn't want to move it across the state, and it had sat idle for months because I was so afraid to use it when the kids were around, afraid they were burn their hands or whatever). I missed that thing the moment it left with the new owners.

Now, we have another one LOL. We've had it for a few months. DH talked me into it, because I was going to use it in the mornings, and he was going to walk on it in the evenings.

I use it minimum 3 times a week, ever since it entered the door. DH? he walked on it twice. That's what's making me giggle about this. But Oh well, I got a treadmill!!
  • Yeah, DH was really against it. He knows himself! It was actually our son that pushed him over the edge. It's the only exercise that has ever lit a spark in eyes. That makes me a happy mama.

DH is also going to beg and plead at LA Fitness tomorrow to allow our 10 year old a membership so he and Daddy can swim laps together. Doesn't that sound like fun?

I'm desperate to find something that doesn't feel like exercise for my child who doesn't like to do anything active...including sports. Yesterday he wouldn't even pass a football with me at a friend's gathering because I think he was embarrassed by his own lack of coordination. He wouldn't say, but I think that's what it was.

But he knocked out 2 miles on the treadmill tonight and is feeling proud of himself!
  • That is so awesome! I know my nieces (older than my two - mine are only 4 and 6) use a treadmill and love it. I look forward to my girls seeing me use it, and learning it's a good form of exercise!
  • Eliana, that's wonderful news about your son! Mine might like one, too--especially if we hook up a TV in front of it, lol!
  • Awesome that he is liking the treadmill. Do you have any of the wii fit type games? Those are fun for our family.
  • Congrats.

Yes, and I told him he could walk on the treadmill while walking around the island. I thought that might be fun for him.
