Treadmill incline

When I push the incline up or down, there are no numbers on the panel to gauge what % the incline is at so I do I figure it out? I would like to start at 5% incline but have no idea how to be sure I have it set as that :/

ORSewmama 06-10-2010 05:24 PM

Hmmm....I'm not sure. When I push the button, my display has a little area that changes - 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 etc. I can also quick select and go right to 5, for instance. Is there a way to change the display so it will show you?

Onederchic 06-10-2010 05:34 PM

No, I see nothing where I can change settings or anything like that for incline :(

ORSewmama 06-10-2010 05:57 PM

What treadmill do you have? Do you know the brand and model?

Onederchic 06-10-2010 05:59 PM

I see on the treadmill it reads - Pro-Form Crosstrainer Ultimate LX :|

I couldn't find your TM on this site, but maybe you will have better luck.
Hope that helps.

I searched without luck for an online manual for you, wish I had found one! That is so strange it doesn't tell you - like every person can read grade and guess the incline!

Onederchic 06-10-2010 10:57 PM

@Penguin Thanks, I will check out the link.

@ORSewmama Yeah, my bf says this is an older model but still seems weird it wouldn't have a way to gauge it :/

VickieLou 06-10-2010 11:15 PM

Maybe call store bought at to see about ordering a manual? Or email ProForm about getting a manual for it.

VickieLou 06-10-2010 11:20 PM

You can go to website www.proform.com. Then click on customer service on bottom of page than on user manuals. It said you can contact them by phone to get hardcopy of older manuals.

Thanks Vickie!

That is wierd! All treadmills I have ever looked at , one side is the incline and the other is the speed. I know one push of my arrow for the incline goes up .5. Hope you can find the manual!

I had an older model treadmill that did not show incline level, either. I had a knob for the speed, which changed digitally, but the incline was a toggle that held down or up to raise and lower. I wouldn't worry about the level number, you'll be able to mentally gauge the incline after a short while and know where you're at. 5% is pretty steep. You'll definitely feel it in the calves. Maybe you can try one out in a sporting goods store, and then go home and compare?

I feel ya. I have an older treadmill and it doesn't show the incline percent. that i found yet lol

Yuck. I guess you'll have to use a perceived effort type measurement. That's quite odd!
