Karen - It's probably just the whole different people carry weight differently or something. I don't know, it frustrates me too sometimes when I think 2 people should be about the same and they aren't or when one should logically be smaller and isn't.. This gives me so much hope, because we're the same height (and hopefully the workouts are helping me with the muscle thing).

Sizing is so crazy. Depending on brand, I'm anywhere from a 20 to a 24 now. I have 24s that are tight and 22s that are falling down. I so don't get why there can't be a standard. And don't even get me started on sizing for shirts and blouses. Within the same brand and style even. (Seriously, found a shirt I fell in love with, it was a 2X. Grabbed the same one in a second color, got it home, and needed a full size bigger. WTF?)
