I've only lost 8 pounds so far, but I can say that if I was only doing 1200 calories a day I wouldn't make it! I eat between 1500-1700 and have lost 8 pounds in two weeks. I am also Type 2 diabetic so I snack between meals to avoid extreme highs and lows on my blood sugar. I eat plain almonds when I feel I need a little something- like 3-6 almonds. They are only 7 calories each and they are a great source of protein and I believe they are a Super Food too.
So, my tip would be don't set yourself up to fail by starting so low with calories. |
I have to agree with dumping the white food. I have done this (with the exception of an occasional plain baked potato) and have dropped 26 lbs in 60 days.
You can do it, Liliann! |
I know others have said similar... but
1.) exercise as often as you can (for me it is 4-6 times a week and even on off days I try to climb stairs at work or take the long way around the building) 2.) eat if you are hungry, but make it something that will benefit your body 3.) Eat as much "real food" as you can (the less processed the better) 4.) know yourself... for me the real food isn't an option in the mornings because I am just too busy to prep something... I keep some low cal breakfast sandwiches (turkey sausage, egg white, low cal cheese on Engligh muffin) in the freezer and I have that every morning. High in protein low in carbs. 5.) For me... Foods high in carbs first thing in the morning will set me off the whole day... Which is why I don't do fruit till after lunch. 6.) Nuts!!!!!!! Someone mentioned Almonds .. I agree 100%, but I measure out 1 oz in the morning and put it in a baggie that way I know exactly how much I have eaten. I don't count the calories for veggies... Some may disagree with this, but for me, that is my "free" food. That being said I count anything I put on them. I have lost 48 lbs since the beginning of the year and I never feel hungry or deprived... exercise is becoming second nature... so I see no reason I can't keep this up indefinitely. |
