Someone noticed!!

Finally, 4 months and 2 days and 33.4 lbs later, one of my co-workers asked if I had lost weight and was complimentary about the progress I've made.

I know I can't be doing this just for others to notice, but I have to admit it was getting frustrating to not get any kind of recognition or feedback. For a while I thought it was because I was still wearing all the same clothes, but I have broken out a lot of clothing lately that I hadn't worn in a long time and I think that finally did the trick.

Congratulations! Even though we're all doing this for ourselves it's still sooo nice to get complimented on how well you've done :)

AWESOME! :carrot:

It always feels so good to have someone notice....

I think wearing different clothes helps a lot! We look slimmer in clothes in the lower size than we do in our current size when it way to big. Plus, I think it attracts attention when you wear something new. Way to go!

marigrace 03-04-2010 03:08 PM

Kudos !!! Wearing something different really helps . People see you every day, so I think when you wear the same things you wore before, it usually doesn't register.

MamaP 03-04-2010 03:30 PM

Congrats! It is nice when people notice our hard work.

ubergirl 03-04-2010 03:31 PM

WTG Peanuts!!! People are so funny. One will notice right away, and another won't seem to notice at all (maybe the ones who focus on inner beauty??)

Anyway, for me, people didn't really notice the weight loss until I changed my hair. Then, they were all like, "did you lose weight."

Just get prepared-- you'll be hearing that more and more from here on in!

Terre 03-04-2010 03:57 PM

Thats great!! Plus people that see you alot like coworkers and family don't notice as quick cause they see you slowly lose. So it is really something for them to really notice. Great job!!

Wizzie 03-04-2010 04:00 PM

WTG! I know that feels so good. Keep it up!

PeanutsMom704 03-04-2010 04:06 PM

thanks everyone!! It definitely does feel very good!

diary 03-04-2010 04:17 PM

Congrats!! It's always lovely when someone notices!

HotWings 03-04-2010 04:21 PM

Congrats, PeanutsMom! :cp:

No one has really noticed my weight loss. I can't believe even my neighbor has said nothing. My immediate family and my mom and dad know I am dieting and so compliment me, but others around me don't? I am not sure why, but surely they can see a 70 pound difference? I don't get it! But I guess the real reward is in how much better and healthier I feel.

cathydoe 03-04-2010 04:54 PM

Congrats PeanutsMom...I had that happen this week too. I felt all kinds of emotions...are we prepared for this?

So happy for you! HOOT!

Beverlyjoy 03-04-2010 05:23 PM

WONDERFUL!

It's nice when folks start to notice....yay.

Lori Bell 03-04-2010 06:19 PM

Awesome! Just like ubergirl said, now that the cat's out of the bag, people will be noticing like crazy. It's kindof bittersweet! (Because people will watch more closely now...lol ;))

Shmead 03-04-2010 06:20 PM

Woot! Congrats!

See, I get it the other way: people haven't seen me in a long time and they are like "You look different. Did you do something to your hair?" and I want to be like "Do you have a hairdresser than can make someone look 100 lbs thinner? Can I have her number?"

Yeah, me too, schmead!

Summerblue 03-04-2010 08:10 PM

THAT'S AWESOME!!! The progress you have made is very encouraging to me.

CONGRATS on getting NOTICED :)

Eliana 03-04-2010 09:00 PM

Good for you! And as someone told me once, I bet for every one person who says something, there are ten more who don't know how. ;)

Angihas2 03-04-2010 10:56 PM

I had an experience when someone asked me if I had lost weight, when I responded yes, another person I knew, was all, "Phew!! I noticed but I was afraid something was wrong", there's such a fine line between asking in order to compliment and being seen as insensitive, you know?

S.A.S.H 03-05-2010 07:06 AM

:woohoo: That must be the BEST feeling!!! I haven't had anyone notice yet, I don't think I've lost enough. Keep up the awesome work. It's so nice to see other people notice our hard work, even if we are really doing it for ourselves.

PeanutsMom704 03-05-2010 07:40 AM

thanks again everyone!

The compliments thing that a lot of people mentioned is funny because for the past few months, I have been getting lots of compliments about my clothes (oh, nice color!) and some new make up I had tried and things like that. And yes, I did think that people noticed I looked better even if they hadn't put the pieces together and realized it was from losing weight.

It was nice to get the compliments but nicer to have someone specifically notice/mention weight!

that's bizarre - there is no way it's not noticeable!
