Rethinking Goals...

Hey, guess what? I've decided to go for a "normal weight" rather than an "ideal weight" which is a difference of 20 lbs. I think a healthy BMI with a reasonal goal attatched is much more important than me doubting myself and always be unhappy with myself. Has/is anyone else changed/changing their goals?

I did!! I had this 135 number in my head. Which I thought was reasonable since I had always thought I should weigh 118 growing up. But then I realized that I looked good at 175. So I changed it to 145. Much more realistic, I think.

Hey Apryl-
My goal is kinda going to be touch and go once I get down there.

I HAD my goal at 157 which is the top possible number for my "healthy weight range" according to the ww charts. but then I found out my sister who is about 2" taller than me, but has a much smaller frame weighs 165 and looks GREAT! So I reset my goal to 177 for now, and I'll see how I look when I get down there! The group consensus is considering how "good" I look now at 250 (most people guess I weigh 180-200 right now!) that I would probably look anorexic at 150! But hey, I could stand to lose some chest, and I'm probably carrying a good 40 lbs right there, so we'll see what happens.

I've said my goal is 135 lbs.. I am 5 foot nothing. I said 135 because that would be exactly 100 lbs lost and that would be kind of cool. At my first wedding I was 155 lbs and I looked good! So who knows. :?:
I try to focus on getting through today and making my mini goals, ie. labor day and halloween.

Hey Apryl!
I have thought about this myself. I think it would be better to maintain a higher than "ideal" weight than to get too low and then yo-yo diet all the time. At one time I weighed 175 at 5'8. I was a size 14 and wanted to lose more so maybe a high ideal weight of 160 will be great. I doubt I will ever be on the low end of the ideal scale!! I guess we will see when I get there!!

I'm keeping my goal for now, but it may change once I get closer to it. I've never been thin so I can't really say what my ideal weight should be. I'm still too far away to know that, so I'll stick to 145. I've checked a bunch of charts and 145 seems to be right in the middle of what's suggested. Really, I didn;t know I'd get this far. This is beyond what I used to hope for, but I plan to just keep plugging along.
