And again. I will not give this up.
Celebrating 4 OP days, having ceased the last time I restarted and really abused both food and myself. I gained about 10lbs in 2 weeks or less. My first counselling session with the mental health team is next Thursday, hope that begins to help.
Hope you're all doing OK, and thanks and hugs to Silverbirch, who keeps sending me inspiring txts. XXXXX |
:congrat: Rosinante on being back on Plan for four days! Good Luck on your counseling session. Good to see you back on the boards. We missed You. Don't be to hard on yourself. Some of us have struggles with overeating too.
:grouphug: |
Rosinante! Good to "see" you again, I've been wondering where you were. Keep on keepin' on...
|
I'm so glad that you are back. Now please stay... I love seeing your incredibly kind and inspiring face every day :)
|
I always like seeing you here too, and reading how you're doing. I'm wishing you well.
|
Rosinante, it is good to see your post. It is great that you are on your way with 4 days on plan and especially great that you WILL not give up. You will succeed as long as you don't give up!:hug:
|
Good to see you back. Best of luck with the counselling :)
|
Thank you, guys. I've amended my visible stats - one step further into Camp Reality. :)
|
:o
Glad I can help out a bit. |
I was just thinking about you the other day and here you are. You have no idea how happy I am to hear from you and how happy I am to hear that you've had 4 days OP.
You know what they say, "you don't drown in the water by falling, you drown by staying there". Don't you ever, ever give up. You are going to find your niche again. I am certain of it. Hope all goes well with you at your appointment. Now stick around, hang with us. I look forward to hearing of your progress. 4 days, that's more than 1/2 a week - nice! |
It's always so good to see a post from you. I miss you when you're not around!
I hope your appointment goes well on Thursday. |
good to see you back!
|
so glad you've had these good day
|
Glad you're back! I don't post much, but I always looked forward to your posts. They inspired me, and I miss them. You can do this, girl!
|
Thankyou for your nice comments.
Finished day 5 on plan or thereabouts. My plan for Sundays is not to stick to my fairly rigid Lenten observance (no meat, cheese, yeast or sweets/cakes/biscuits) but not go too mad either. I've probably eaten a little more meat than I meant but when I put the last lot on my plate, I just couldn't eat it, so divided it among the doglets. That's good. And I didn't go to the shop across the road for a Sunday Candy Bar - one is never enough!. Partly because we've had a sudden, deep snowfall - only 5 of us made it to Mass today - but partly also because I CHOSE NOT TO! Down 6lbs on the week, so that's most of the excess water dealt with, on to the real fat now. Thanks again for your support. |
Well, hum, I'm still up and down the same 5lbs. At least not completely running mad.
My first counselling session turned out to be a fact-finding interview from a slip of a girl half my size, half my age. We ran out of time, so I went back for part 2 today. She tried to be polite but basically she told me off for talking too much last time. So I told her it was my first time doing this, and it was up to her to move me on if I was talking too much. So I was briefer in my replies this time. She is going to refer me to supervision for their view. She is of the opinion that I have a couple of things going on - low mood for a variety of self-perpetuating reasons but also a huge slew of things from the past to escape from. I knew that but I'm glad she agreed. She's to send me information on local counselling services - but unfortunately they are not available on the National Health Service, so will be to pay for. She asked if that would affect my decision whether to take it up or not. I don't have a problem in principle but it just depends what the costs are. Actually, I find I do mind: there are any number of entirely elective physical procedures that the NHS will pay for, why not this, which is damaging my life seriously? Anyhoo. Still flying the 'I won't give up' flag. Hope you're all doing OK. |
Ah! I was wondering where you'd gone and was worried about a backslide, I am so happy to hear you're back on plan and including a counseling component.
We're here for you when you need us, keep on keepin' on! |
Glad to hear from you my friend. I think of you from time to time.
Also glad that you're taking the steps to work things through. I hope you can find some peace. Until then (and always) keep on plodding away. Plod. Plod. Plod. ;) |
Welcome back Rosinante!
|
Grrr. So the slip of a girl went through the triage procedure and you're probably not a case for the CMHT. I think that's a sigh of relief I'm hearing from me.
But where does that leave you if the NHS doesn't provide counselling in your area? Is she suggesting you 'pick your own' from the leaflets? Interesting. What about quality control? And cost, of course. (Govt policy is to increase CBT - cognitive behaviour therapy - provision but er that's yet to happen a lot in practice. Some CMHTs do it but they often aren't very experienced. Hence my sigh of relief. You are the best. You should have the best. Oh yes, the Beck Diet Solution is CBT - you know how I like that! And CBT might not be the best model for you.)) Glad to hear you're not barking, despite living with a fair few dogs!  |
I am also on a huge wait list for some much needed counseling.I'm glad to see you posting again. You hang in there. You know we are always here.
|
Sending positive energy your way.
|
WELCOME BACK - and great job on 4 days of ON PLAN! It takes a lot to stay on, I know (I think I can speak for everyone here).
NICE JOB on the weight loss - keep it up and keep focusing! |
Welcome Back Rosinante! I was getting ready to put out a post to see how you were doing. Glad to see you are still trying. I think that's ridiculous that girl complained you talked to much. How are they going to assess your situation without all the information. You would think they would want you to tell them all what's going on. Well I hope they have something affordable you can continue with.
|
Good idea to take the steps you need to for yourself. I give you credit. Hope you're feeling better soon. You're persistence (sp?) inspires me to keep going, too!
|
Thanks, guys.
A 100% OP day today. Good. |
hey, R. nice to see your posts. how bad is it that money becomes such an issue in mental care. raises the "just wrong" hackles on the back of my neck. happens here too.
|
Hi DW64, yea, rotten isn't it?
I got some leaflets today, average hourly sessions GBP50 ish. That's kind of a lot, unless 1 session did it! (Unlikely) Still, even the attempt to address the issues properly has made me feel a bit brighter. Another whole OP day. woohoo. |
Rosinante, Yeah for another OP day! I have missed you and am glad that you are posting again.
