I got a wii over the weekend (belated gift from adult daughter to young son) I was so proud of myself, we golfed, bowled, boxed....I worked up a sweat many times this weekend.
I woked up this morning with a pain in my right knee that is unlike any I have ever felt. It feels as if my lower leg isn't connected very firmly to my upper leg and really aches deep inside. I didn't feel any injury over the weekend. Nothing like an "Oh, my Gawd, what have i done?" until this am. I DID wear shoes that make my knees ache at work on Friday, heels that make hoisting my a** out of any chair harder.
Don't you just hate it when you do something really good for yourself, like exercise, and it backfires with an injury : ( I'm so sorry you're having trouble!
As someone who has had lots of knee problems - my only advice would be rest today, and if it's not a lot better tomorrow, go see your doctor.
Ice bag tip, get some of that thick ole white corn syrup and freeze in ziplock baggie, size of your choice. Be sure to double bag, lol.
It gets really cold, but doesn't freeze solid and is moldable, and you can freeze it over and over. I always have a couple in the freezer. Plus you can usually find the store brand syrup fairly cheap.
As everyone has already suggested, just take it easy and let your body recover. If things don't get better, see your doctor.

This is a great tip. I normally just use a frozen bag of peas and/or corn.
Thanks for all of your advice. I love the frozen corn syrup in a bag idea!! Adult daughter is back to college today. I took her to the airport then came home and napped for a 1/2 hour. I iced the knee for 20 minutes and took Advil.
My knee now just aches but feels "connected" again. I feel much better but this is truly a wake up call for me. I know exercise is important but at this weight apparently I need to take it easy at first. Maybe light exercise and calorie reduction to lose a bit of the poundage first. Then as my body gets stronger I can exercise with more intensity. When I weighed 238 for years I was disgusted by how big I was but my body still worked the way it should. Nothing hurt from just regular living.
Now at 266, cleaning house makes my back hips hurt, walking around the block makes my back and hips hurt, getting out of a chair takes a hoist and playing video games is hazardous to my health. . :-(
I can't imagine living a comfy life with my weight like this.
More motivation for me to keep the goals in mind and the scale moving downward!
