Feet shrinking?
Can your feet actually shrink?
I have tried on two pairs of heels that used to fit me really well and now they are too big and i can hardly keep them on while i walk....i didn't think feet could shrink. has anyone else had this happen? |
I don't know about shrinking, but I guess some of the fat gets at the feet, so you lose it from there too? Or maybe by exercising and losing weight your cyrculation is better, thus they get and feel leaner.

Feet shrinking? Heck ya. Why not? Mine had plenty of fat on them. I went down a couple of sizes and widths.
I lost weight from everywhere, which is a good thing, since I had fat everywhere. No place was safe. I had to give away hats. They fell to the middle of my face. Even my earlobes lost weight. There wasn't one thing that didn't. |
yup - the width of your feet can decrease as well when there's less weight on them
|
Yes. I need to replace all my shoes, they're all about a half size too big, making it *really* awkward to walk. They slip fully off of my foot when I walk. At the moment, I wear two pairs of socks. Ugh.

My feet are shrinking too! 100lbs ago I was a size 9, now my feet are around an 8/8.5. It's so weird that everything has been shrinking, I've slimmed down in the oddest places. I'm just over 60% to my goal, I can't imagine what I'll look like when I'm at my goal, lol. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with shrinking feet. :)

Yes! Is not that great? :-)))
You will have smaller feet! I am looking forward to that and that I will be able to wear high heels and dont look like an elephant! COOOL, lucky you! |
Start buying smaller ! :-)
|
Not that I've noticed. But maybe I haven't lost enough yet.
|
I have only lost 13 pounds and already I have this problem, but what a problem to have! Must be it was one of the last places the fat got stored.
|
Thanks for the replies everyone!
its nice to know im not the only one this happens to haha :) yay for smaller feet! |
I went from a size 9 to an 8 :)
|
I still wear a 10M, but I find the few shoes I wore often at my highest weight are too big now. I think I was gravitating toward my widest shoes.
|
I am literally the only person on this board that got longer feet. I do wear a narrow now though.

As for myself, I've gone from a 6.5/7 to a 5.5/6 in shoes, and I'm buying regular width instead of wide these days. The selection still sucks because my feet are so small, but at least I'm used to it! |
I have really wide feet. A long time ago when I was still living at home and borrowing my mom's shoes, she lost a lot of weight and accused me of stretching her shoes. I am glad that later she told me it was probably due to weight loss and not my fault. I felt bad.
|
Yup - my 8 1/2 shoes are alll too big. I am down a 1/2 size - mostly I think it's the width rather than the length. I had to buy a bit bigger so they would fit width wise.
|
Considering my feet grew with each pregnancy, I wouldn't be surprised if they shrink when I lose the weight. Unfortunately that puts me back in a AAAA for width! :( I was so exited to be almost able to wear a regular old off the rack shoe. That has been the only blessing about gaining weight. Of course, with that also came plantar fasciitis. I have finicky feet.

I am already having this problem. I haven't replaced all my shoes yet, I'm just tying them tighter. I was in 6s and 6.5s when I started, the one new pair I bought are a 5.5 and I'm not quite half way to goal. I'm terrified of what my feet might be like when I get to goal.
Thistoo - I'm with you on the frustration at the lack of selection because of my feet being small. For tennis shoes and stuff you can try the girls department. |
I hope my feet get littler! I'm a size 11 now, lol!
