Sugar detox, how I hate thee...

Day one of thirty day sugar detox starting today, wish me luck!

Good luck! Sugar detox was hard for me but once I kicked the sugar habit, weight loss became so much easier. Losing the cravings just made all the difference!

If it gets rough, hang in there and remind yourself that it will get easier. You can do this!!

I did it by accident, but it was one of the most wonderful discoveries of my weight loss journey. I always thought I had a problem with food, turns out I just had a problem with SOME foods. Identifying those foods and limiting them was the difference between failure and success for me.

I am always hesitant about plans that have a definitive stop date. What happens after 30 days? How about considering this day 1 of a life with less sugar? If you do decide to keep it to a 30 day plan, be thinking right now, what is going to happen on day 31, day 32, day 45, etc.

Count me as one who had to get off sugar before I could even contemplate weight loss. I gave up candy April 2005, but didn't even attempt weight loss until April 2009 as I knew may cravings would be back in a heartbeat if I got hungry.

Wishing you all the best. It was the hardest thing I have ever done.

I'm on Day 116 of my sugar detox... I told myself back in August that I wouldn't eat any sugar for the rest of the year. So far so good...

It does get easier... those first few days can be a real bugger. However, once it is actually out of your system it gets much more manageable. Stick with it. You can do it!!!

Have you ever done this before? I've done it a few times. :o Routinely, the first three days are horrendous, but it gets better after that to the point where sugar cravings are gone. It's not hard at all to be in someone's company who is eating chocolate cake, for instance. You simple don't need or even want it.

Ugh, it's the worst, but it makes such a difference. Totally worth it, and your skin will thank you too! Good luck. :D

If I hadn't sworn off sugar initially - cold turkey, I'm POSITIVE I'd still be morbidly obese. That is had I not keeled over...

It was just about the best decision I've ever made.

Hang tough. Work past the discomfort stage and hold on tight as you transform your very life.

Glory, I think it was just a number to shoot for at first. I haven't thought much past it, thank you for the reminder to do so! I'm sure I'd go right back to what I was doing before if I don't have a plan. I am allowing myself 2 tsp of sugar in my coffee in the morning so it's not a TOTAL swear-off.

I think that would be enough sugar to cause a problem for many if not most of us. Of course we're all different, for sure, but it's just something to keep in mind if you have trouble.
