I know the feeling. I didn't discuss it with the doc, but I had decided to talk to him about it. I set myself a 2 month goal and decided that if I could do that then I would just keep going without surgery and if not I'd talk to the doc. It was close, but I did it. I remember the feeling when I got below my insurance company's limit to qualify for WLS. I did lots of happy dances.

It makes me mad when docs tell people WLS is the only way to go. I'm not sure if there is anyone that is actually true for, but I know that it isn't true for all the people the docs claim it is. It makes me wonder at the motives. They flat out lie. They told a friend of mine that WLS could "cure" diabetes - type 1 and 2. Ummmmm? Nothing can "cure" diabetes, especially not type 1. Grrrrrrrrr! I am glad you did not listen to them and proud of you.
