Unfortunately I think doctors fall short in SO many areas as far as weight is concerned. I'm not sure why that is the case, being as it's something that is SO vital to a patients health. Mind boggling if you stop to think about it.
I'm sorry he treated you that way. He most certainly should have been more encouraging. That's an understatement considering how much you've accomplished. Shame on him. And yes, you've got us!!!! We will be here with you to celebrate each hard fought pound lost. You have much to proud of and ecstatic over. You are doing amazingly well and I am certain you will continue to do so. |
time2lose,
I am just in AWE of your accomplishment!! 82 pounds?? With hypothyroidism??? That's astonishing!!! I agree with all the others here who have said your doctor is a bit of a twit for not having really given you an "atta-girl." My doc is one of the motivators in my weight loss, and if he does to me what yours did to you, I'll be looking for a new doc!!! You really did something special that few people have the fortitude, stick-tuitiveness and grit to do, and EVERYONE in your world should be turning cartwheels on your behalf (as HeaterAS's doc will soon do, too!!!)!!! JUST for you: :carrot: :carrot: :bravo: :cheer3: :cheer3: :carrot: :cheer2: :cheer2: :bunny2: :broc: :broc: GO, GIRL!!!!! |

What a Doctor Downer! We think you rock!
Next time you go in, (and you have lost some more), when he asks if you switched to SB, say YES. Let him go on and on about the wonders it has done for you and then tell him you were just messing with him and that you really just continued with what you were doing. he-he |
I will roll out the red carpet let you know that you have done more than most people wil ever do!;) You've done GREAT! Keep going and you will be in onederland soon. Keep doing your own thing! :carrot:

I understand your dissappointment. Going to the Dr. at my high weight was a traumatic experience. I dreaded what the Dr would say every time. Your Doctor should have been so happy to see the work you've put into your health. You deserved a huge congratulations, but you have it from all of us. After all, we are the ones that really understand what a huge accomplishment it is to have lost so much. Just keep on with your plan and we'll keep cheering you on!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I am so dissapointed that he was not more forthcoming with the congrats. SO FEW PEOPLE manage to do what you ARE doing. He should be praising you to the sky!!!
But either way... we LOVE you and WE know that you've done an AMAZING job! I for one am SO proud of you!!! |
pffft....forget about him...YOU ROCK!!! :cheer:
We love you! :D |
You're doing great Cheryl, don't let this discourage you!

What a bizarre reaction. I can kinda excuse the "wasn't very congratulatory" as a personality thing, or a momentary lapse, but the fact that he then tried to change your plan!?! Maybe if you were starving yourself or something, but it's obviously working, why change something if it ain't broke? I would change doctors. Seriously. Because I know that I wouldn't want to go back to him. If you have to, and you're feeling brave, then I would suggest saying something. Explain the importance of emotions in weight loss, and that someone in your situation needs congratulations and encouragement, not pills. Maybe he won't get it, but he should be told.
Seriously. Change doctors. |
