MAJOR NSVs

I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic in July. I went for a 3 month check up with my diabetes specialist today. My lab work showed non-diabetic numbers. My A1C (3 month blood sugar test) was 5.9, normal is 6 or below. I have also dropped my cholesterol by 21 points for total cholesterol, 15 for bad cholesterol, 24 for triglycerides, and managed to only drop the good cholesterol by 1 with my efforts to drop the others. She said that most people's good cholesterol drops when they start trying to lower the others and it will go back up, but most people drop more than I did. My blood pressure was 130/74, normal. All of that from August 13 until I got my blood drawn on Oct. 7. Woo and Hoo! I still have to drop 14 points from my bad cholesterol and raise my good by 10, but otherwise my numbers were excellent even if I were a non-diabetic.:carrot::carrot::carrot:

I decided to go buy myself a couple pieces of new clothes to celebrate how well things have been going with my weight loss and these lab results. I was looking at some pants that were sized in small, medium, large, and x-large. I was sad because they didn't have the color I prefered in XL so I thought I'd try the large to see how far off they were from fitting and might get them anyhow if they were close. They did not fit. They were too big! I decided to try the same thing with the medium (there was no way they were gonna fit). They did fit!:dizzy::dizzy: I bought them of course. I almost bought bother colors just because, but I really didn't like the other one.

I also think my body is handling things much better these days due to my healthier ways. I got my flu shot about 5 hours ago. Usually by now I would feel like complete crap. I am a bit thirstier than usual, but that's it.

Thanks everyone. It is so great to start feeling and being normal. Normal lab results, normal clothing sizes (a medium, a 16 average - not even a 16w, but an average!). Who knew normal would feel so good!
