Default Do you get stuck at certain weights?

I'm terrified of 250 because I don't ever remember being below that... I can vaguely remember sticking at 251-253 in the past.

Is there anything to the idea that the body gets stuck at places where you've hung out in the past?

I think I'll faint with shock if I ever see 249.

Are you speaking about the body getting stuck at a certain number or the brain? Big difference.

Since it's most likely the brain, well that's good! You have control over this. Your past means nothing. What was past was past. This here is your NOW. What you do today and from here on in is what matters. You want to get below 250, well then go for it. Keep up with your healthy eating plan and you will get there and below. The only thing that can possibly stop you - is you. AND THAT IS NO LONGER AN OPTION.... Right? Right.

Well, if I think rationally, I guess it's my brain getting stuck, although, it seems like my body getting stuck....

I want to be standing on the scale in the doctor's office and not have to give a subtle nod with my finger that means "you need to set the scale above 250"...

I get stuck at the following: 222, 206, 184, and 167. No idea why - but those are the numbers I like to hover near. I'm currently fighting the 222 now. Last time I dropped like 30 lbs I got stuck at 206 forever (then gave up and had to do it over again!). Just don't let "getting stuck" make you so obsessed with the scale moving that it moves in the wrong direction!

Yup, i have a tendancy to get stuck at certain numbers OVER AND OVER and then i get frustrated and gain, gain gain. I get stuck at 286, 250, and 193. Each time these numbers are where i have hit a month + plateau...UGH. The good news is that, that 193 is lower than the 250 and 286, so i KNOW i CAN get past it, it is just a matter of me winning, not letting the scale win. IT CAN BE DONE and you can do it. You are SO close to overcoming that #.

I maintained at 225-250 for a couple years so I'm currently within that zone and still losing. I think the trick, if there is one, is just to stay STRINGENTLY on plan and have no "off" days.

250 is my certain weight, and I'm nearing it... getting a little worried myself. I'd say put your head down, stay on plan, and come back up in a couple of weeks and then you won't have to worry about the 250's anymore! What about not getting on the scale for a couple of weeks? Maybe the mental aspect can't have power if you don't give it the satisfaction? Or worst case? You can show yourself you can maintain? Good luck, you can do this!

I always get stuck at 240lb without fail. Generally after that I give up. Obviously I didn't this time as I'm now 218lb for the first time in over 10 years

In the past couple years, I have always gotten stuck around 230. I will waver between 231-234. But a few years ago, when I was smaller, I was stuck around 210. I guess we just have to stick it out, even if we plateau for longer than we would like. Better than the alternative of gaining.

my set weight is around 176. This time around I got stuck at 170 for about two months. Working on getting super far away from that number

I haven't been lower than 176 in about 5 years

I've been stuck at 195 for the last 2 weeks. I've also been sick, so maybe when I feel better I'll start losing again. good luck!

uber - I sure hope to get past it.. I hit 255 about 3 weeks ago, and then I went offff plan, for a week, got back on plan, got back to 255, went off plan again, and then this morning, 255... so I went for a 1 hour walk. We don't need to be in the 250's anymore.. I'd say we've both put in our time! I look forward to hearing that next week are NOT in the 250's anymore.. I'll follow you.. lead the way chicky!
