I got called SMALL
Seriously. Me. Small.
I weigh 230 freaking pounds! Yes I know compared to 377 it's small but it's NOT small by any measure. And yet... I got called small. Actually "I can't believe how SMALL you are!" The mind freaking boggles I tell ya. |
That's wonderful!! It's all relative and it just shows how people are noticing your excellent progress! Keep up the good work. :D
:woohoo:
You so deserve to have a freaking boggle of the mind. :congrat:
I know!! I ran into a friend I hadn't seen since 2006 and she literally screamed when she saw me...then she told me I was TINY. Ha, I am barely under 250 lbs, I sure ain't tiny. It was very nice though.
And, I've seen your pics...you ARE tiny! When you get to goal you are going to be PETITE. When I get to goal, I'll still be an Amazon LOL. :) |
yay!
ya gotta love it :)
Awwwwww cool beans! I bet that made your week!
:congrat:
 I have found that "small" IS relative. The first time someone called me small, I actually laughed out loud. It was so ludicrous that I laughed hysterically - yet they were serious. What an awesome milestone for you! |
woooooohooooo!!
Oh that feels nice!!!
Just wait, now comes the "don't go and get too skinny now" and "make sure you don't become anorexic" "you're not still losing weight are you?" and "just how much more weight do you plan on losing?" and "aren't you done yet?" and "are you still dieting?". Oy. It's all part of the territory. The compliments are really nice. Feels fantastic in fact. But for some reason, people now think that they're able to comment freely about how you look and how they know what's best for you and how you should eat. One of the only downsides of losing a lot of weight. Oh well. But do enjoy those comments. They're loads of fun and yes - definitely mind blowing. I still have to look behind me sometimes when someone mentions how tiny I am to see if they're speaking to the person in back of me. But no, they're not. Your hard work is paying off and people can't help but notice, marvel and comment on it. :) |
Sweet!
Good for you :-)
Great NSV |
Thanks ladies! I know for my weight I am smaller... measurement wise than perhaps I should be. And I know I look small COMPARED but being called small was a huge shock. I tell people that I want to lose another 80 lbs and their eyes BUG out of their heads. It's kinda funny ;)
congrats! that is just great! :D
Congratulations!
And lol at Robin's post, so true, it's a fine edge between "you look good" and "you're too thin"! When I first lost all the weight, about 30 years ago (ack), I remember being turned away from a blood-donation session because I looked too small! I've never been less than 8 stone 4, hang on, maths, 116lbs and I'm 5'2" so I wasn't frail by any means but the only time in my life I've been deemed too small! |
That's awesome!
YAY! How sweet it is!!!!
Now thats an NSV!!! Congratulations! I agree the "you need to stop" and "your anorexic" will be the next things you hear. I get those alot now and I am not tiny.
Yay!
Thats wonderful. Keep em coming, right? :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:
That's great! :)
That is FANTASTIC! :carrot: I hope you just reveled in it...and keep on reveling in it! I was on the phone with my mom (who was just talking about how down she feels at blowing her "diet") and when I told her how much you've lost so far all she could say was "WOW!". She was VERY impressed and she doesn't even know you like we do. See; you're inspiring people you don't even know. :D
That is so cool!

How cool is that????
What will you be at goal, microscopic ;) |
 I know what you mean! People are starting to tell me that they didn't realize how short I was..... guess my girth made me seem taller!
The first time I lost weight (this is my first time doing purposefully though, and I plan on it having to be my last!) when I was a teen, I marveled at how small I felt too..... Like, I almost felt frail! I knew it was just a phobia after a lifetime of being big, but I didn't let it get me down. ;) I'm still a b***** so no worries. hehe Or so I told myself.... |
I was just recently at a family wedding and some of the people I have not seen in over a year so they saw me for the first time at this weight. My DHs cousin saw me and of course while others are around and in earshot says " Wow Laura, you have lost a LOT of weight" Me..." Some but not a LOT" Him..."YES A LOT, you look great" etc etc. Now mind you I love knowing that people see a change....makes me feel pretty damn good! Like I told my husband, I am pretty shy so I want people to notice...think to themselves Damn, she looks good :o and let me know they notice and move on, not make a huge thing of it.
Anyways, yes, I have been called small lately and it is shocking to me, I do not consider myself small, maybe average now but not small. I still actually see myself as my original starting weight at times so to even be considered average is good enough for me!:carrot: |
