EXACTLY!!!!! It's often NOT worth the calorie hit but you do have the choice if you feel you really need it!

Those free meals.... quite EXPENSIVE

During the losing portion of my journey. no. no. no. NO. I was trying to create a calorie deficit. One uncounted meal could have blown it out of the water. No thanks. I spent too many years "just eating" without giving it much thought, which led to disastrous results. I no longer wanted to BE a person who is not conscious of what they put in their mouth. So for me, a free meal was out of the question.

I would never up and take my check book and go on a shopping spree without knowing full well what I was spending.

I only ever did a meal never did the whole day. And I aways tried to stay close to my choices. When the Hubby wants to go Out and Least I can give him a few choices of where to go. I can say how proud I am of myself self . My children and Husband has had Oreos and Chocolate pie in the house and I have turnes it down flat with never a second thought. My son came in the other day and said Mom bought your favorite candy ( Candy Corn) and I replied that I lost almost 6 Pounds this last week and I am not giving them up for candy Corn. You may eat them all. :carrot:

I eat pizza. I just count it. I eat a hamburger or ice cream... I plan for it and count it. I don't have to have a "free" meal to eat the foods that I want. I just have to plan and account for it.

This is pretty much me. I eat ANYTHING I want all week long, I just have to be accountable for it! I eat something sweet litterally every day and have popcorn almost every night.. but I work it into my calories. I can't tell myself that I can't have this or I can't have that or I go nuts.

I could never handle a "free meal"...

It's not at all hard to eat 1500 calories at a sitting-- or even more-- also, I don't want to keep feeling like I can't wait to have it and want it.

I do allow myself small servings of off plan things when I'm in social situations... but I don't go out that often, so it doesn't affect me that much and there's no chance I'll go overboard since I'm not serving myself.

Oops.. I didn't realize it was a "no calories counted" thing. In that case, I do not have that kind of free meal. I count those calories. I guess my definition of "free meal" is a little different. I try to eat a whole foods diet for my main plan - my free meal just means anything not on my main plan. For example, my aunt brings my mom & dad these huge beef & cheese enchiladas when she comes to visit once per year. I would never have one of those as part of my main plan. But, I ate one at my free meal last weekend.
