If I found myself thinking about that cake more than I would a bottle of windex that was on the counter, I would put it away and sweets aren't even really my thing. Im sure you can resist it, the question is if this is the right kind of fight and only you can answer that. Good luck either way!

I personally allow myself to eat 1 tiny piece of it, call it my treat for the day... and I'm OUT. I curbs the serious craving... and to me it more of a "living for life" way of dealing with it.

But that's just me. :)

These circumstances will pop up all the time. learn what works best for you-what really actually works, which translates into what option gives you the least grief.

I have been actively changing my relationship with food but I don't set myself up for tests or pop quizes! Its just not fair.

These days I rarely get tempted by other peoples treats, only because I have truly paid attention to the foods that i really love. Some young girls box mix cake wouldnt do it for me now. Cake is one of my favorites, but I have learned that there is actually bad cake--yes this does exist---

be tempted by food on your terms and then enjoy what You want, when You want. This cake is just random and replaceable and it will show its face again.

You know what? It's not your cake. You wouldn't take someone's food out of the fridge at work, so why take someone elses food at home?

That always keeps me away from the bad stuff.

Honestly, I haven't given the cake a second thought. I sure have enjoyed reading all the responses today. I think the one I agree with the most is from thisisnotatest "Some young girls box mix cake wouldnt do it for me now."
