What have you learned about yourself

since you started your weight loss journey that you didn't know before?

That I can find time in my busy life for exercise. And I enjoy it (Gasp!!!)

That weight loss is like Dorothy and the ruby slippers. The power was inside me all along.

EXACTLY!

That I CAN do this.

I've learned that losing weight won't fix every other aspect of my life . . . but it just might make things a little easier all around. ;)

TraceyElaine 09-02-2009 05:36 AM

That I'm stronger than I thought. And that I deserve this.

That successful weigh loss is more than willpower alone. It takes planning, committment and mental realigning.

Serephina 09-02-2009 07:59 AM

There's a difference between thinking about a goal and committng to a goal. Until I started writing things down, they were more like wishful thinking.

hpnodat 09-02-2009 08:19 AM

That it is easier than I thought it was because I have a better more positive attitude about it this time.

I have to be accountable for everything... including things that don't have anything to do with food.

Exercise is not something that is a nice thing to do when I feel like it. It is a mandatory thing to do even when I don't feel like it. Like brushing my teeth and taking a shower. It has to be a part of my daily routine.

That it's ok to be selfish and put me and my health and happiness first.

As my Dh says, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

I've learned to have a love affair with my veggies. I've learned that I have muscles under there, I just need to uncover them. I've learned that in the excercising game, 'fake it 'til you make it' actually works because when I started I hated it and now I am getting to where I like it and it is becoming a slight addiction.
