Speaking of books...

Has anyone here read "Good in bed"

the main character is overweight and her ex bf is a relationship columnist and he writes about what it was like to date a fat girl in his column titled "Loving a larger woman." it's about her life after this happens....it's VERY good and very positive I thought. Was also very representative of our struggles without being all, fat girl can't get boy, fat girl gets skinny, fat girl gets boy. It's not vapid like that at all....

it's by jennifer weiner.

I'll check it out. I love chic lit. And I've seen the author's books at the library.

BTW I just hate those stories where the heroine is so honored the hot guy likes her chubby self, she just finds the weight "melting away" or the ones where she's so broken hearted she loses 100lbs in a month and the guy comes crawling back! grrrr to those kinds, I say.

I love Jennifer Weiner! She's a great author, and all of her books are awesome. She wrote a sequel to Good in Bed called Certain Girls....it's pretty good, but kinda sad.

yeah. I always wanted to buy that jamima J book, but I think it sounds like the above mentioned on the back of the book. it's all so simple, this is a little more complex, a little more emotionally taxing I think? Than all that...

*thinks she will reread it*

Jemima J was my 1st ever chick lit book when I was like 13 or so. It is very like that. She loses weight so the hot guy will like her and then when he likes her, gains a little more back so that she's healthy/"normal." (I think the latter part was supposed to be the healthy message to women) Yeah ok whatever. :P

Wait if you love sad, does Good in Bed have a good ending (and by good I mean happy)??? Because I like perfect/happy/cheesy endings. (I hope knowing the kind of ending won't spoil it for everyone else).

Maybe that could be mentioned in a private message, so people who may not want to know the type of ending don't happen to read over it :)

I'm definitely going to have to check this out! Unfortunately, I'm a mega reader, and I have 3 books ahead of that that I have in line to read.... so it might be a while. But definitely on the list now. :)
