I have a Tanita. I got it for a bargain...I think like 15 dollars. Anyhow, it is wonderful. It is very accurate.

I have a beam balance with the weights you slide - like in the doctor's office. Very precise and doesn't need batteries. I've had mine over 20 years.

Thanks everyone, I need to buy a new microwave so thought I would check out the scales at the same time. Thanks again!

I guess this may be after the fact...but I have a Tanita with the five buttons too. I don't remember how much it cost, bought it years ago, maybe around $70. It has the body fat percentage feature. I'm very happy with it (it's a tough scale, and despite how much I get on it, the battery lasts a long time).

I guess I'm the old-fashioned one here. I have one of the spring scales -- no batteries, cheap like $10 at walmart, pretty consistent -- and no digital readout to drive me crazy obsessing over .1 pounds. ;)
