Komen 3 day walk completed!

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this isn't appropriate to post here, but the past weekend I took part in an life changing event. My team of 23 guys completed a walk of 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for the Komen Foundation (breast cancer). This is a cause that hits very close to home for me and I was very excited to take part in it. I met so many great people and will have memories of this that will last a lifetime.

Many photos will soon be available online at the Men with Heart website. Also, please take a look at this amazing video about the event that my teammate Paul put together.

I've gotten lots of encouragement and support from women and men at 3fcs and I thank you so much! I'm looking forward to the event next year and have already registered for 2010!

wow, that is amazing, congratulations! My SIL suffered from breast cancer, and she's about a 4 year survivor now. I have another friend who walks in all the Avon walks, I'm going to do the one in NYC in the fall, or at least volunteer. Really is a great cause.

Matt, thank you so much for supporting this cause. My aunt died of breast cancer 21 years ago when the treatments were not nearly as effective as they are today. Your teams' effort will undoubtedly raise funds and awareness to help ensure that someone else's aunt will survive breast cancer and live a long and happy life.

So thank you. And congratulations on the accomplishment. 60 miles--whew!

I felt pretty good. I had the proper shoes/ socks so I didn't have any blisters and the training really helped.

Matt, you are my hero!

Thank you so much for donating your time to this cause. I have 2 close friends that are both breast cancer survivors, so I know a little bit about how devastating this disease can be.

And kudos to you for putting on those great big walking shoes and grinding some fat pounds under your heels while you helped the rest of us. From where I am in my ability for long, sustained walking, 60 miles is AMAZING! I will be thinking about that the next time I am tempted to turn around after 20 minutes!

GREAT JOB IN SO MANY WAYS, MATT! CONGRATULATIONS! WALK ON!
