Still in Shock!

So tonight I was doing dishes, and I dropped a spoon on the floor. I squatted down, grabbed it, stood back up, and continued washing dishes.

Then it hit me.

I SQUATTED down. As in, BENT MY KNEES. (The same knees that have been hurting me horrifically for longer than I care to think about.) And I stood right back up--as in, not HAULING myself back up, not hanging onto the counter for dear life--without even thinking about it.

I'm nowhere near my goal weight, but the combination of the weight I've lost so far plus faithfully riding the stationary bike (with thanks to Ted Nugent!!!) and just plain moving around more has already made an incredible difference in my life.

I'm really, really, REALLY getting better! :D

Congratulations! Way to celebrate and acknowledge yourself for the little victories along the way. That is so important to staying on track.

We get so focused on how weight loss is measured in our looks and on the scale that we often forget about the other ways losing weight benefits us. Now just think how good you are going to feel when you getting to your goal weight.

Yea!!!

:cheer2:Woo hoo for you!!! I have a knee issue too, and am afraid to do much squatting.

Yeah!! :dancer:

My knees were a big part of me starting to lose weight. My doctor promised me that 10 or 20 pounds would make a difference. He was right!

My knees were so much better that I thought that my problem with them was gone. WRONG - they have started hurting some in the last week or so. But I am seeing this as just a reminder that I need to stick with this.

That is one of many amazing reasons to keep moving forward! So glad it's going so well.

Congratulations! This is just the start of all the wonderful changes ahead for you!

You said it so well!

It's amazing isn't it--taking it for granted that of course you can get that thing off the floor! It wasn't that long ago that is something fell, it stayed there. Awful way to live--but getting up and down was so excruciating I didn't do it often at all.

Hooray for you! Keep on truckin'!

Way to go!!! Keep it up.

I had the same type of epiphany the other day when I realized how easy it was to clean up after using the restroom. At my highest and out of fitness, it had gotten to be a struggle. Now I don't even think about it.
