The more trendy Walmart stuff is actualy junior sizes and the run like 4x=1x womans. It's rediculous! Especially since the same brand stuff is different sizes in different departments.
|
Yes, Walmart makes the smallest plus size SHIRTS. I have never been able to really fit well into their shirts, too small. And their pants are always too big for me (way too big in the hips and butt). I'm apple shaped. My friend who is pear shaped fits PEREFECTLY into Walmart clothes. Hmmm?

all depends on the maker of clothes. Some stuff now I can wear a XL, others it's still 2XL. At 250, I was more 3XL, some 4XL.
|
Definitely don't let this discourage you! My Walmart has some really cute exercise clothes, but I still can't fit into the XL tops.
It does help to know it's the cut/make; not us! |
The teeny tiny sizes at Walmart are usually junior sizes OR which I have seen from when I worked there is that new stockers in the softline area will put girl plus sizes in with women's plus sizes.

Shopping rules to remember!
1. There are no standard sizes in the clothing industry. You may find that you fit a size X in one brand and a 4X in another. 2. The cheaper the outlet, GENERALLY, the less standard the sizing. Often the bargain clothes are mis-sized or off-sized or the manufacturer provides them at a low cost because there is no attention to sizing detail. GENERALLY SPEAKING. And YES, this can happen at boutique stores too. And YES boutique stores do big markups. But OFTEN, the sizing at boutique stores is a bit more consistent than it is with stores that offer really low-priced clothes. Just keep this in mind. 3. To HECK with the size! Get what fits! Bottom line! Whether it is a 10, 14. X or 4X. Cut the label out if you hate looking at the size. :D Kira |
I have had the same problem. At some stores a 14 fits at another I have to wear an 18. I was shopping at the GAP and I tried on the same capri's just different colors and I had to get one a size 20 and the other size 16 fit great!! It was the same pair of pants!!!
|
I have also seen on a few occasions that the clothes were tagged wrong.

Sweet, sweet Jesus! Thank you for posting this. I never go to Wal-Mart & just happened to find myself in one on vacation last week. I saw a couple t-shirts and bought one to wear long over my swimsuit (in theory). Well, it was a 4x and it did not fit over my hips. WTFrick? I felt so bummed out. I am so glad I saw this post.
