Default I need a kick in the keister, please.

I'm not exercising this week.

I got a visit from Aunt Flo on Saturday and that made me lethargic. I even took a nap on Sunday instead of working out! She left though, rather abruptly, on Tuesday so that's over with. (Already! Wow. I really am perimenopausal!)

So, what's my excuse?
1) It's hot.
2) I've got my son working out on the exercise bicycle--and I don't feel I can go down until he does--and he procrastinates. (He's 11 by the way and according to the CDC stats for children, he is, sadly, obese) I don't know. But suddenly, it's hard to "find the time" --when a week ago there was NO problem whatsoever.

Talk to me.

It's not about finding the time, it's making the time. You have to come first and you know exercise is a vital part to good health and weightloss. Just do it!

Wow! How did you lose 14pds so fast. I also started my journey on May 25th. I have been working out at least 3x week, but I have only lost 6 pds and I think I gained 1.

Hey Lisa141!

How many calories are you eating?

And hey, everybody--we just did 20 minutes around the neighbourhood. I feel much better--I just wish we'd had more time. It's hot and what passes for muggy here. A thunderstorm has been threatening for the last 3 hours. I just wish it would hurry up and rain already!

And Ladyviv--there's no way I'm gonna be somebody's excuse for not exercising! Thanks for that.

Thanks. Tomorrow I need to get on the bicycle!

Yay for going for a walk!!!! The last thing I want to do when AF is around is workout but the times that I have made the effort to go for a little jog its actually helped with the aches and lifted my mood and energy. I will remind myself of those benefits next time I decide time in the couch is a better deal!

aww I missed the butt kicking? j/k

I allow myself some computer time or guitar hero time (omg my vice! lol) after I fit in at least 30 mins of exercise if I am being a slacker. Cheesy reward but gets my booty going!

Hey, aren't you the gal who started the thread a few days ago raving about how great exercise feels?! Well, even if you've found yourself with me in the "UGH, you mean I have to do it again?" camp, just do it anyway. I find I have to do it first thing in the morning or as the day lingers on so do my excuses. Do it first thing. I don't think anyone has ever said, "Man, I wish I hadn't exercised this morning." Even if you don't like it, you'll be glad you did it.

Yes, thin, that was me. Which is why it seemed so odd to me that I hadn't done much of anything yet this week.

So, the call for help. And hey, it worked!

It's giving me some food for thought though. My issues with my weight have more to do with not looking after myself properly than they do with food, as such. Fortunately, I'm not addicted to any food--though I was probably developing one. Man, I can't believe the chocolate I ate. And I had to have it, too.

But I need other ways to take care of myself and I haven't quite figured that all out, yet. Exercise could be one of them--maybe--but I'm not "in the habit" yet.

And my head's not quite where it needs to be yet, either, obviously. In other words, I know it feels good and it's good for me: but those aren't yet compelling reasons for me to drop everything and just go do it. It's that way with me for a lot of things. And yet, if you ask me, I'd say my self-esteem is quite well, thank you.

No, it's something else. Maybe. I don't know. I'm going to get on the bike now and think about it.

I'm in the same funk, but my favorite time of the month is due Saturday. I haven't exercised since Sunday night when I went to the track. What is ridiculous is I know how great I feel when I'm done, and I know how proud it makes me feel to actually do some exercise. I guess it isn't enough.

We just need to go to it, huh?
