Yep, I remember that sound...

So, just recently, I decided I am doing so much better with my cardio workouts that I can add a little bit of jogging along with walking on the treadmill at the gym. It wasn't too bad and it made me sweat a lot, so that had to be good. The first time, I had headphones on and was listening to the TV. Yesterday, I went on a different treadmill to try it out. It is a high tech thing that doesn't have the TV option, so I was just walking/running. When I was running, I kept hearing this sound and at first I thought maybe my knee was popping. But no... it was the sound of my fat slapping as it was flopping up and down. (You know, the fat "apron") How nice...:dz:

I remember hearing it before, years ago, when I was trying to lose weight and had tried running. This time, however, it won't stop me. I'm still going to keep running and I'm going to look forward to the time that there won't be the slapping sound. I'll try to envision it as a clapping sound that cheers me on. :cp:

Probably one of those TMI moments, but I thought that maybe if I told someone else about it, I could move on! ha!

Yes. :o
I sit on a reclining seat bicycle for my bike workouts--and my legs hit my lower belly. There's no sound, fortunately, but it is yucky. I've chosen to see it as a reason to continue rather than a reason to quit, too.

Good for you!

Ah, yes, the slapping sound. I know it well. The good news: I don't hear it anymore! So if you keep at it, one day you will be running along and realize that sound you're not hearing is success. :D

It really will go away, or at least shrink waaaaaaaay down. Last time when I got to 14/16 it was all but gone and now at 16/18 it ain't much there. Not like at 30/32, anyway. Can't wait to see what it's (not) like at 12, 10, 8... :)

That's why we ended up getting an elliptical ratehr than a recumbant bike... I can't stand that feeling/sound of hitting my own flab as I exercise.

Good idea. Maybe I'll try that. I thought I just saved those so my dress pants look good.

Thanks everyone for taking this thread in the way I intended. We need a laugh sometimes!
